Totally agree with you. I have limited time and funds to play and I don't play games. If I say I am coming I am coming and I expect the same from them. Thanks to all for the good advice on this, but in the event that a hotel worker does ask me what my business is there then what should I say? I wouldn't want tell them that I'm headed to room#5 for example where the provider is. My big concern about meeting a provider in this situation and not having a room reserved may throw up a red flag to the hotel staff, sure as hell don't need LEO called on me for roaming through a hotel where I have no room reserved.

So again, don't overthink it. Walk in like any other guest and you shouldn't have any issues.
