I think you may have hit a snag there. I'd maybe try being more direct. If she's responding, I'd hit her there with maybe something like "That sounds good. Can we meet at X:00 today?" "OK" sounds dismissive and she's maybe already moved on and dismissed you as someone who isn't serious if you can't commit to something at that point.

What I don't understand is how there is no shortage of mongers who would advocate for trying to help SWs, such as those who might tell them to go home and be safe with their family during a pandemic instead of trying to get the best prices out of them.

This has sure been my experience. If you pay in advance, you probably will never see them professionally again.
