To your first question, no, we're all in it for ourselves. However, I would postulate that so-called "rich mongers" usually are / should be shopping in different venues than so-called "poor mongers". The fella buying the jewelry at Tiffany's won't often compete for a necklace with the guy who goes to Kay's in the mall. That said, if Richie goes slumming it at Kay's and they convince him to pay Tiffany's prices, he might be stupid.

The house question gets into worth vs. Value. Worth generally means how much something costs or will sell for. Value encompasses many other intangible factors including emotions, urgency, biases, etc. So, a house might be built for say, $250,000 (buy the land, build the structure) so it's initially worth the same. Then, you factor in all those intangibles -- neighborhood, schools, how hot or cold the market is, etc. -- and each buyer will value it differently, so it leads to a "market value" of say, a million dollars. If it sells for that, that becomes its new worth; if it doesn't, it was overpriced (but if you paid it anyway, see example above). That buyer will now come to expect that same amount (or typically, much more) when he tries to sell it. But again, the pool of buyers will determine the value, and if the market has cooled off, the market value may be lower, and the house may no longer be worth a million dollars. Point is, this is all highly fluid.

All of this applies to the girls. What are these services actually worth? Pretty much nothing. The same thing can be obtained for $0 if you put the time / effort into picking up some chick at a bar. But that's not always practical (and time is money!) so value comes into play. Sometimes, an external pressure (say, a small window of time) will force your hand and / or you value the immediate gratification, so you'll pay more. However, if buyers regularly overvalue things, they can pay too much, and artificially inflate worth, which screws up the market for everyone. Look at any past bubble (housing, cryptocurrency) to see what I mean. Or, if the market is affected by external forces (say, the govt) and supply gets constrained, with the same demand, then that also results in rising costs, pricing a lot of people out of that market. Housing is the obvious example here. Gentrification (essentially what that previous poster was complaining about) can happen in any market.

Personally, I've determined my own (what I consider, very reasonable) value range for these things, and I generally stick to it, meaning I often pass on situations that don't fit that criteria. And, well, porn is still free. But not everyone has that self-control. Sometimes, like a starving vampire, my bloodlust gets the better of me, too, and I make poor financial decisions. I simply won't pay Maserati money for a Buick, though sometimes I will convince myself it's a BMW.

The rub is, the market sets the price. A girl's worth doesn't change because THEY say it does, it only changes if WE agree. A street girl with a smartphone who posts a nice ad doesn't automatically become an elite courtesan worth 10 x the price, but if mongers overvalue her and pay her that, suddenly that's the new normal. We're our own worst enemy in that regard.

Since the law was passed last year stopping CL and BP sites to post adult ads, these providers (In / Out / Car) have increased their rates like crazy! Some Mongers morons pay $$$ for HJ and happy with is or $300+ for 1 hr FS and so on. One provider I used to for last 4+ years have increased her rate for 1 hr from $100 to $300+. Others have followed as well. She told me that they all thank Washington to pass the law banning CL ads. If there wasn't no mongers out there so willing to pay these outrageous prices, things would be better. A lot of these so called providers would go down on their prices. An obviously not every provider I would say is so called. I'm referring only to the ones who come with a bundle of rules. They aren't real providers. Rules like no touching or kissing for example. An then on top of that they want to charge a lot of money. And there could be a lot of times where even though someone paid a lot money to a provider. They still get rushy or uninspired services. I can see it being okay if you want to pay some good bucks to someone worthy of it. Of where they spend a good amount of time with you. And you get excellent services.
