So for instance, for an additional $5. 00 a month you'll be able to access (say 1,000 websites. Yahoo, cnn, google, ajc, espn, etc) and for $10.00 additional to your already high Internet connection you'll get access to (say 10,000) websites and for the low-low price of an additional $20 per month you'll get even more. I'm sure this will be a fine way to shut down porn of all types across the Internet while at the same time restricting free speech, which is what the President wants to do as well as make the already super-rich people even more rich.

The killing of Net Neutrality reaches far and deep, we just don't know it yet, but I tell you now, in the next year or two you will see how it affects everyone.

If you want to go backwards put your car in (R) EPUBLICAN.

Plain and simple.

Don't let one particular political issue guide your brain. The world is bigger than that (and obviously you). Pretty sure it's the internet service provider that does it and no I didn't think Starbucks is an internet service provider. I think an ISP like Comcast or AT&T or whoever has their own deal set up with public places. So if net neutrality repeal was to ever be truly enforced by ISPs, I'm sure they could do it with anybody who gets on wifi. Probably won't do it because they'd obviously lose a lot of business.

Just Google 'router based porn blocking'. When you request a site, the router consults the DNS to find out how to reach the site. If it is 'naughty', you will either be blocked, or referred to a server that does some fancier presentation before blocking you. If 'nice', the DNS will provide the real location and permit access. A simple, elegant, low cost solution chosen by the owner of the router (Starbucks, McDonalds, etc).

Starbucks owns the wi-fi router that connects you to the internet, that they can block access to any site they want to block. It could block The weather channel if they wanted to. Comcast sells internet, they sell to Starbucks, Comcast isn't blocking you from anything.

I moved this here because it's probably going to generate a lot of responses from idiots that will require evisceration for crying WOLF!

We were not being censored. I know that a lot of you guys have been brainwashed into believing that the "long arm" of the US law enforcement agencies is all powerful (maybe you might want to think about why they want you to think like that) but they can't block (block not censor) a site who's servers are not within the USA world wide. I was unable to access the site yesterday either and I wasn't in the USA. The servers were down. It happens. We don't make the kind of money that it takes to have an all the time up site like facebook with fail over servers and mirrored databases all around the wold. We have a server, actually two, one for the USASG and USAAC and another for the ISG, they are in Malaysia (you could find that out by running a trace) and there were issues at the server farm yesterday so the site was fucked. Again, regrettable but it happens on little bitty sites like ours.

Had I known the tinfoil hat brigade was coming out I would have said something. Wait, no I couldn't because I couldn't access the site from Brazil either.

Here's what you do in the future.

1. Install a VPN that lets you move your ip around the world.
2.If the site is down and you can't access it from a US, Russian, or Netherlands IP then the issue is the server and we are working on it.
3. If you can access it fine from other countries but you can't from inside the US then the thought police have won, you are fucked, and you missed your chance to escape.

Net Neutrality is a different issue, had nothing to do with what happened yesterday but is probably one of the most important issues of the day and you should educate yourself about it.

I've had a few snickers and chuckles as I read through some obvious BS. Well, it actually happened to a girlfriend of mine. A group of black teenagers surrounded her aggressively when she left her car to go into Walmart. She managed to get away from them and run into Walmart. She reported it to the manager and request an escort after she finished shopping. The store refused. I wouldn't say the original poster is lying about black guys surrounding her. The guys who were surrounding her may have been trying to ask her for money, sell her drugs, kidnap her, or maybe they were even filming a reality TV show and she didn't realize that. It could've been anything. As for what another poster claimed he saw on NBC, that could be true too but that can happen anywhere.
