I agree. I think it is much better to just park your car and go about it on foot. Most girls I know like it better when you talk to them on foot too. Maybe it is not for everybody but I fell much better striking up a conversation on foot rather then sitting in my car trying to get someones attention. You get a much better look as well.
Yesterday, Wednesday, I watched a guy strolling the stroll. He was walking around eating a bag of chips like he was at a carnival. That's his prerogative if that's his comfort zone doing that sort of thing. Yet he was not very seasoned in the mode he was working. He was very obvious in his own little world. It was plain to see he was not a local. He definitely was not waiting for a bus. He made it clear with body language what he was there for. He didn't seem to be trying to hide it at all.
Before he made any move toward anyone he really should have scouted the area out to see what drawbacks there might be. He approached one girl and she blew him off like an annoying mosquito. He threw his hands in the air and crossed the street and hung on the corner like he was a resident. Little did he know the place was crawling with undercover LEO.
LEO had been clearing the area all night every time someone stopped to pick their nose. They was looking to take prisoners to show the boss. . They was watching him like a cat watches a mouse. Just waiting for him to screw up. They would have pounced on him and showed no mercy. They was laughing at him when the one girl shooed him away. So their motive was also clear.
One can take all the precautions mentioned above. That being no keys, minimal amount of cash, no valuables etc. You really need to remember you are the only person that knows you are prepared for trouble in your own comfortable way. Can't walk down the street wearing a sign stating that.
Somebody that is sizing you up for a hit thinks you are a great target. Because that is the world they live in, in that area. They believe everybody but them has money. They think they are going to hit you over the head and be set for the rest of the day with drugs. They talk about what they are going to do with the haul before they even whack you. They convince each other you are loaded. Really. When you fall they will go through your pockets only to find $5. 00 they very well could be pissed and do more damage to you. You always need to look at a situation as what's the worse that can happen here. Am I safe. How many guys just hanging around outside and inside. How many was staring as I entered. How many people there all together that you can see. If I have to run am I able or do I take what they dish out to me. What way am I going to go if I need to exit quickly. What is the weakest point to exit. These seem like trivial thoughts until you need to put them to use. If you don't take care of you nobody there will. Hell they watch people die in that area and film it while laughing. So what are your chances out of your comfort zone?
You determine what you want to risk. When someone wants to do you harm they set the risk level much higher and you may be unaware.
One could visit five safe $10.00 spots. The one that is not safe will look just like a safe one and leave you with memories you won't believe.
I'm sure there are mongers here that have been set up in the street one way or another. Anybody wish to chime in here feel free. I know the experiences are on this board.

Was driving around the stroll about 2 am and wasn't expecting much with it raining, saw a couple but were standing with others or weren't my type.
