Put yourself in her shoes, find out what her expenses are outside of basic housing and food, then judge her. She has 3 bags of clothes and toothpaste, that is it. Their life isn't as simple as you think it is. I'll admit my eyes were opened today.

Speaking as a former Captain, these girls are in this line of work for a reason. Typically a felony that makes getting a straight job hard -- but not impossible. One provider, who has a spotless reputation on our board, was giving me some advice while I was trying to captain this "poor, mixed-up, good girl". She told me she herself has pulled every rotten, lying trick in the book at one time or another. I'd bet nearly every monger here believes this provider is not on any hard drugs. But I've seen her do plenty and she has a nice stash of needles. I haven't seen her in over a year but I still think very highly of her. But it *really* opened my eyes. You absolutely cannot believe anything these girls tell you because more than most of the time it's just a story. Are some of them true? Sure. But if they were clean and working a straight job then none of this shit would happen to them.

The girl I captained: I spent a very healthy chunk of change for detox and rehab - she relapsed the day she left rehab. She's been thru 4-5 *more* detoxes since then and relapsed every time. She's in her early 20's and by her own count has been to detox about 20 times. I spoke to her over a month ago and now I can clearly see how she's still a manipulative addict, not committed to getting clean -- AND she's currently in a court ordered program and clean, but her brain is still an addict's brain. Drugs are hell, but until they decide to change their life there's nothing anyone can do. It starts from within. Until then they'll do / say anything and everything, use their family, use their friends, use YOU, all to chase their drug of choice.

You just can't trust their word because they're so good at manipulating people.
