It is possible. They have been making a push at this shit in some areas, and playing things a little more dangerous would get them the results. Hopefully this isn't true and is just a ploy to keep you / others from picking up in that area.

Jewelz left her phone in the console of someone's truck a day or two ago. It has been turned off for the time being but could be reactivated if the monger returns the phone to her. If not, it will be a few days before she can get it replaced.
