Once just after cops came out in Vegas they had a show about busting the girls.

I know exactly the episode you're talking about. I saw that one too, a couple of times. The Arab guy was amazingly good as the 'dumb john.' The girls were very careful asking to see his drivers liscense before the negotiation. After the check, they actually wanted $500 each, specifically stating that it's for "everything" and the guy promptly agreed. They got the cash and when the girls start undressing the cops bust in.

Poor girls... Thats the most common sting we see here in Las Vegas. That along with the usual clean-up at the strip clubs every summer around August.

I remember feeling bad about the girls because they were actually really nice to the guy, cordial, making sure he understood everything before finalizing the deal despite the language barrier. They werent upselling at all. Now why cant it be only the bitchy bait n switch ones that get busted?! Such is life...

A great case for "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".

I don't think that show of cops was a tourism video, they show busts all over the country, it just happened to be vegas' turn.

I remember years ago, when one of the first Vegas editions of Cops came on. With all the shit that was going on in town, all they had was a couple of homeless routines and a mild domestic, IIRC. It was a very mild "review" of the Bad Boys. Seemed to be more of a public relations version that showed us as a "no worries here" kind of place..

With a town based on tourism, I don't think they wanted to go Nationwide with too much of the dirt, so to speak. I think they're capable of feeding the show what they want in a way they want that will or will not reflect on the community. Mainly based on our economy being fueled by tourism dollars.

I met a woman here who was busted in N.O. and they showed her face and all. She said she did not give them permission to show her face but they did it anyway. She was even in her underwear when they were filming.
They will edit somethings but that doesn't take away from the reality of the show, what you see them doing is happening everyday somewhere.

I don't know how often they do this, but I do know, I am not one of the many guys who got busted on that show I saw. They have to do some explaining to somebody.

It could've also been just a backdoor attempt at a tourism video, if you get my drift.

Perhaps with the hope that it'll cut down the activity somewhat. A lot of tourists do get rolled when they come in with blinders on, thinking that Vegas is an all out P4P type of town.

I think you guys have Las Vegas confused with Reno. (See my posts on Reno sting operations). Metro rarely busts any John's. Vice directs it's sting operations against the providers.

I have seen episodes of cops (in Las Vegas) and that kind of steered me away from the street action. I did pick up two girls from the streets before. One was at a bus stop and I knew she was working, not waiting for a bus. She eventually got up and walked by where I was parked. She gave me a lousy handjob.
I picked up another girl while sitting at the Greendoor parking lot,looking to see who was going in. She did good but I over paid her because it was dark in my car but at least it was good. (f/s).
I decided to pay a premium $$ and get a CG. Make friends with them, let them lead with questions like "do you want to have som fun?" Never talk about money, thats the key word to incarceration. She will tell you her fee.
Because there are so many ways to monger, you can't follow one rule. I f you noticed on the cops shows, the U/C woman always led him, what do you want, how much will you pay, follow me to my place.

Yes, you do. Or the drunkest or most stoned. Generally all of the above. Which is part of why I find whining about LE operations so juvenile. Guys who are caught in those things really do need to be in a secure institution with adult supervision for their own protection to keep them from hurting themselves and annoying the whole nieghborhood.

I wish I had trouble believing that. I do not. You see that kind of idiocy all the time. And half the time the pea brain will have a couple pounds of dope in the trunk while tooling around doing "please arrest or rob me" stuff like that.

Several episodes of COPS have shown stings done on mongers in Vegas with an UC female officer doing exactly what you describe.

Never seen those episodes. Makes me feel safer to know you have to be the dumbest sombitch john in the known world to actually get busted by an LE sting. Being led into a motel room? And she hasnt even gotten into your car to get there? You'd think that the LE would orchestrate something a little more perceptive than that, but I guess they dont have to.

From some of the stories I hear from local talents, its really no surprise. The most recent one being a guy braking his rental car to a screeching stop in the middle of the strip with oncoming traffic (between Charleston and Sahara), rolling his window down and flashing his wad of franklins yelling out asking how much a blow job is. She answered $1000, and thats exactly what she got for her 2 minutes of service. True story, allegedly.

Found nothing in the Twain/Swenson area,...

I'm ready to stick a fork in that Twain, Swenson, Sierra Vista, Cambridge area, call it done, given up on it. Reluctantly, with regret for all the fond memories and stained upholstery.

It used to be my favorite hunting ground, but I haven't seen any street life at all there lately. It's not a LE thing, it's just economics. There's been a big change in the property values in a short time there, and as a residential nieghborhood of low income housing projects I think it is doomed, with the SWs the first ones getting squeezed out of it. There is a convention center expansion planned that will swallow part of it for parking and more space for expense account dudes in funny hats and name tags ("Hi my name is Bob, I'm from Iowa, and welcome to the backflow prevention device association trade show"), there's a mid rise condo project going in on another part, and the land under those squalid hovels so close to the heart of the resort corridor has become far too valuable to continue housing working girls and welfare mom part timers in weekly rentals and publicly subsidized monthlies. For example the cheapo dump apartment building at the NW corner of Swenson & Sierra Vista was recently demolished (I think it was called the "Bingo Suites" or something like that) and a major federally sponsored ghetto complex taking up half a city block on SV between Cambridge and Swenson is now boarded up and well into the process of being prepped for demolition, and I believe many of the existing rentals within a mile or two have less than eighteen months to live. Blame the booming economy and too much prosperity. The land is worth more with the buildings and their tenants removed.

When it was a favorite hunting ground of mine I used to find it a most productive place to find inexpensive local girls ($20 a pop) very late at night, like at four or five am or so, but while I still go through it from time to time because it's on my way to this and that, I usually don't even bother looking for street life there now.

Didnt mean to offend. I've lived here in Vegas for about 8 years now (still a newbie compared to some pros here), Ive spoken with a lot of people, hear rumors left and right, locals talk, not once have I heard of LE setting up a sting in a hotel room to bust Johns here in Vegas. Its always the ladies getting busted, like I said, 10 out of 10 times. Johns get busted all the time in the streets trying to pick up a SW, but a sting with a decoy leading a stupid john all the way back to a motel room? Never. Maybe Im talking with the wrong people.

That's why when I used to partake in some SW action I choose the place and ask her if it was okay. They'd always say sure. But I always had the feeling that if they told me to go some place in particular, there would be several hidden guys waiting in the dark for me to get distracted. I may be paranoid, but better safe then sorry.
