So I wanted to start a thread specifically to address various health issues and concerns that we come across and to allow the free flow of information and experiences that the board members have. Subjects can range from ED, to low T, to high blood pressure or workout regiments.

As I get older, I find that I am physically unable to do the things that I could do when I was 20.

One of the things that I found out was that I have low T. Did the blood test and they said I'm at about 200 ng / dL first thing in the morning when T levels are highest. Normal range is 200-1100 (I think). He prescribed Androgel. The junk part about Androgel is that you're supposed to put it on in the morning and apply it to your upper arms and shoulders. There is another med called Axiron and it is put under arm. Axiron isn't covered by my insurance but Androgel is so that is what I got.

So I'm wondering if any of you guys have experience in using Androgel and if you've tried experimenting with different application sites? Any difference in effectiveness at the various sites? Ideally, I'd like to apply it to my under arms as that would reduce the likelyhood of contaminating anyone. If I have to apply it to my arms, it will get on my clothes too.

Any thoughts?

According to their information, Androgel can have serious consequences for others who come into direct contact with the application area, and this is why the prescribed locations are the armpits and shoulder; areas that would be covered with a t-shirt. It is flammable when wet and yes it should be allowed to dry before putting on a shirt. It is also a controlled substance.

Skin-to-skin transmission of the med is dangerous for the recipient. The instruction says to wash hands thoroughly after application.

It seems that safety is the concern; efficacy was not clearly identified.

(Hormone Replacement Therapy). I inject myself with testosterone every 10 days. My levels of T make you look like a 30 yr old. Good luck.

I heard that because the injections are spaced a week or more apart, the fluctuations in T levels are greater. When you reach your 9th day, how do you feel?

I'm pleased to see this thread start up. I'd been mulling over the idea of creating a similar thread, but more along the lines of the title I've used for my post. However, I believe my stated topic can comfortably fit in this thread without resorting to starting yet another thread.

I have lived my life outside the established medical profession as much as I possibly could manage. In an emergency I will go to the MDs for help, yet I avoid them like the plague unless I've actually GOT plague. I'm constantly researching supplements and take them as an alternative to big pharma's drugs. This life-long experiment of mine seems to be paying off, seeing as how I have reached the age of 70, and can still do all the intense physical shit I could decades ago, which includes trail-blazing, hiking miles back into the remote mountains on Oahu, surfing hard for a couple hours straight, and power-swimming distance in the ocean. The one thing I HAVE lost is a large portion of my libido. A recent blood test revealed my T level is okay but my "free" T is low and unavailable. So now I'm researching alternative herbs and supplements to see if I can reclaim that sexual strength which has slowly but surely been lost to me over the years. I have no intention of risking my body's general level of peak health and fitness by assaulting it with dangerous mainstream pharmaceutical medications. I've been digging into this most recent experiment for months now and in fact I have achieved some limited positive gains but not yet attained what I'm seeking in terms of the return of consistent and dependably strong libido. If and when I do get those gains I'll report on this thread so that other like-minded guys can explore the info if they so choose.

It's not going to work over night, but in time your testosterone level will increase with activity. One of the bargain packs I would reccomend that will help with your active life is GNC vitality pack. You can get a months worth at SAMs club for about $30. It just has your basic multivitamin, arginine, fish oil, and a few other extracts to help with overall health. Now with workout, also comes possible tightness which could interfere with blood flow. As I mentioned in another thread, your hip flexors are very crucial to your body. If you are not getting good blood flow there, then your whole body can break down. Therefore I would suggest trying acupuncture and Chinese herbs. It's all natural, no side effects, and reasonable in price. I can refer you to a great place if interested. I don't mean to sound like a marketing machine, but with experience I truly believe in all this. It's really hard to pinpoint exactly what problem you are having since I don't know you and your lifestyle. But all in all, don't just think about sexual function but think about your whole health. Nothing will work if your health is bad.

Back 10-15 years ago, I used to lift and was building up some bulk but ended up quitting after 2 years.

So I started to apply the gel within 1 minute of exciting the shower. I was reading that the absorption rate greatly diminished within 3 minutes of exciting the shower. And since I shower at night before bed, I chose to apply it at that time instead of morning. I also read a medical journal about applying skin moisturizer 1 hour after applying the gel. It increased absorption by 15%. So that's what I did last night. I couldn't sleep. Felt like I had 3 cups of coffee. Not sure if it's the gel or not. I'll have to try it for a few weeks and will report again.

I consider myself a normal 68 yr old monger. My sex drive is high-normal. I can achieve erections without T-shots, but erections don't last more than a few minutes. Not good. Vascular and cardiac events are among the side effects, and some plaintiffs claimed they were not warned.

My T levels are good (600 ish), but my main problem is my sex drive is rather low. Maybe it is because I've been with the gf for several years, but it is one of those things that aren't that important these days. Another thing is my amount of ejaculate is rather skimpy. You know how much toothpaste you put on your round toothbrush? That's it, about a full 8 mm pearl's worth. Is there anything otc for this?

On days I surf for 4 hours and get dehydrated, I noticed my ejaculate is thicker and less. When I'm hydrated well its a lot more but watery. I also take yohimbine, cordyceps and rhodiola.

I have high T levels also and a high sex drive that is boarderline obsessive but I'm also a visual guy so when I let it rip, I like to see it. Watching it fly all over is a turn on to me and no matter what anyone else say, it feels better when more cum comes out. First, Cardio-Vascular; many men have had an underlying Cardiac problem discovered due to low libido; also Vascular diseases such as Diabetes can cause impotence. Hypertension is another disease that can lower sex drive. The second area is Psychological. A host of mental issues may be present. Do not discount medications. Anti-depressants are notorious for dulling a man's sex drive. Some meds can have a person feeling like an eunuch. Do not use me as screen for what steps to take. Discuss any problems you are having with arousal, interest and performance with your PCP (Primary Care Provider). Even if your are 80 yrs of age- you as a man should not feel disinterested in sex. ED is real, but it does not have to be taken lying down. As for increasing your ejaculate; exercise, diet, good sleep and check those medications you are taking. I have used only 1 otc. It is Man-1. Over the years a man's penis head can become desensitized. Rub cream on penis head twice daily. Ordered on Amazon. Read reviews and complaints of ManOne before making a decision.It has worked for me. Tried their regular sized Zero Ones and couldn't get them to roll on and lost my boner while trying. The large size Okamotos are closer to a regular size US marketed condom and can get them to roll on but still feel kind of tight. For sensitivity, compared to the Trojan Bareskins (which are about like a 004), the 003's seem to allow more sensitivity, especially for CBJ. I'd try the large size Okamotos first. They are not really that large. I haven't used them often enough to see if they have a tendency to break (which is another reason one might try the large size first).

Sorry if this has been brought up before but was not able to find anything.

Have any of you had any luck with ordering and using generic Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate). As some of you may already know, Pfizer's patent for Viagra expired in 2013 in Europe so there are many online pharmacies that offer to sell generic Viagra at about $2 per 100 mg pill. Now I have read some horror stories about folks that have ordered meds from online pharmacies, but there might be some good ones out there.

There is also another variant of Sildenafil Citrate called Kamagra which is manufactured in India which also has sildanafel as its main ingredient.

So if you did order generic V successfully, how was it? Did it work or was it junk? Mahalos.

But perhaps this is just the manufacturer's way of getting customers to buy more product, IDK. I never could find an explanation as to exactly WHY taking arginine daily would give superior results compared with just taking it prior to a sexual encounter. Anyway, I didn't obtain consistent results from this amino acid but I did have a few surprising experiences with it. Mainly I was able to remain harder much longer than usual for me. However, my dick wasn't any more sensitive than usual. So even though I did have this occasional definite stiffness improvement and duration improvement, my ability to achieve orgasm was not enhanced. And as I say, I didn't find arginine to be totally dependable. I'd be expecting that erection assist every time and sometimes it wouldn't happen at all, which left me mystified plus quite depressed. So now for the most part I've dropped my L-arginine experiment and am simply exploring strengthening over all libido via supplementation and dietary changes. The Large Okamoto's are my favorite. A more comfortable fit than the regular size. Aria at Rejuve is so cute the way she says "wow, this condom verrry good!" lol. Anyhow, the aloe ones were also reasonable, with a reservoir tip to catch a large load and enough lubrication that I didn't mind the tight feel.

On the other hand, I found the "Real Fit" Okamoto far too tight, almost to the point of breaking. Made me and the provider kind of nervous seeing how tight it was. She kept checking to see if it broke. I ended up giving my box of the "Real Fit" condoms away. If you have a smaller jr, these might still work fine for you.

My only other disclosure, with two of the condoms, once with a Large Size, and once with an Real fit condom, the material got so stretched out during FS that it had me and the provider going "WTF, did it break?" With Aria, she took the condom and squeezed all the cum into the tip end to visually inspect it and make sure it did not have a hole.

Conclusion: Big in Japan is not the same as Big in the U.S. But we already knew that.

I'll make an appointment and have him take a look at my equipment and give me his expert opinion. But my appointment didn't go as anticipated. This MD says his surgical training is in women's issues not men's. And that, since my blood tests put my total testosterone on the high end of the scale, I don't need extra T, and that's what this clinic does; it's there to dispense drugs. So out the door I go. At least they didn't bill me for the office visit. But damn, man, looks to me like all these cats want to do is sell drugs for male sex problems, and don't even have the basics in their facility to check a guy's plumbing? What's up with that? The doc told me to make an appointment to go see a urologist. They don't have one working there? The doc made no offer to refer me to a urologist so I could get my junk checked? That clinic is in a plush suite of offices right in the heart of Restaurant Row. Means they are taking in some SERIOUS lucrative money, and looks like it's exclusively coming out of selling drugs to guys who, if they did their own research the way I've been doing, could potentially improve their sex lives naturally and much more cheaply and safely and avoid getting wrapped up with these upscale glorified drug pushers in the bargain.
