We all know that SWs aren't choir girls, but they aren't absolutely and universally as you described. The characteristics of some do not apply to most or all. Many are certainly drug addicted, but many are also good dates and provide good service; I know this first hand. ALL is strong word and I know no such facts. Some may have experienced these things. I don't know any that have told me they were brutally raped, although such may have happened, and we know of some publicized serial rapists and murderers who have targeted SWs. Many SWs have gone to jail (not all). I have heard quite a few stories about SWs getting beaten up or robbed; that seems pretty common. I never heard of any jumping out of moving cars, let alone bound and/or naked. Maybe you just know and/or date different SWs than I do. I am not saying that a SW's life on the streets is easy. But your words are somewhat exaggerated and overboard if stretched to one size fits all.

I don't think any reasonable monger "trusts" a SW. However, separating the good from the bad and the outright dangerous are points of information for which we look here. This title sounds like something one may have written as an essay in 5th grade, doesn't it? However, if I had written this in the 5th grade, there would have been quite a few eyebrows raised, and probably much sterner reactions than that.

I took the day off yesterday and went to AC early in the morning to relax and do some gambling. I only and always play one game, and that is craps: the game with the best odds for the gambler. I could explain this in detail, but it is beside the point of my story. I played all morning and was up a lot: about 10 grand. I have been up a lot more than that, but 10 grand in your pocket that you didn’t already have to start the day is a nice feeling (on the down side, I limit my losses and just quit, walk on the boardwalk, watch the ocean, have a nice meal, see a show, whatever; because luck seems to run in streaks both good and bad; I let the good luck run, and cut the bad luck off at some limit; there is always tomorrow; this is a gambling strategy which has served me well over the years). I was tempted to keep playing with 'their' money, but it takes some discipline to quit when you are ahead, just like it does when you are behind. Otherwise you always leave a loser.

I was driving up the AC expressway, and then I-76, and soon the towers of the Walt Whitman were in view. A day which had started gloomy and chilly was now warm and sunny. I was in a very good mood, considering both my good luck at the craps table, and the sunny, balmy weather, and just then I had an inspiration: to take a detour up Broadway. I have mongered for a long time but never on Broadway in Camden. It wasn't like I didn't know about it. It was just a combination of things which had conspired against my going there over the years: 1. Convenience: Yes, it is just across the bridge, but the K is much closer to me. So the K has been a matter of simple convenience. 2. Satisfaction: The K is like going to your favorite restaurant, even when you know there are many good restaurants around. There is plenty of variety on the menu. You know the food is good, and what you like, and what to avoid. The K is even better than your favorite restaurant because the menu is constantly changing to add new and delicious treats to your liking. So why go elsewhere? 3. The Unknown: I have chuckled to myself when a monger says the K is a place too scary to be. I am not saying the K is a safe place, or that you don't need to be aware and keep up your guard. But I have never had a dangerous incident or anything close to it. Maybe I am comfortable on the K because I have been here a LOT, and I feel like I am a fish in water. I feel at home on the Ave to some degree. However, I am also aware, just like a fish, that there are sharks about, and I need to keep my eyes open. Just because I have never been bitten or devoured doesn't mean the potential is not there. Regarding the unknown and Broadway?: I had never been there but I was picturing a scene out of the South Bronx or South Chicago, where even armed police would feel unsafe in daylight. I also pictured mostly skank ho druggies, for whom trolling would not be worth the effort or the risk. I also pictured a web of entrapment: LE decoys, unmarked vice and a high and visible and hassling LE presence (especially for some white dude with PA plates). Maybe I hit Broadway on an unusual day, but most of my assumptions appeared to have been unfounded.

Broadway is a wide street, with few encroaching sight impediments on either side, and you can see very clearly on both sides for a long way ahead and behind. It is quite unlike the narrow and crowded K in that regard. It isn't the bombed out and dangerous gang hell that I pictured. It is a typically run-down inner-city main street, no worse than many and much better than I had anticipated. I was expecting to see unmarked LE on my ass as soon as I started driving up Broadway, but that never happened. Unlike the K, there is very little traffic, and an out-of-state plate scoping out the area would be easy to spot if one were so inclined. I didn't see any evidence of that except for one situation I suspected of being a sting, which I will mention later.

Some other nice features of Broadway: 1. The vicinity isn’t riddled with triangular and impossible one-way streets like the K, where it can take you forever to circle the block for a second look or a pick-up. 2. There seem to be many good secluded areas for an uninterrupted car date, for those of you who prefer that; I do every now and then. 3. There are some good and safer possibilities for eating establishments on the northern end of the stroll close to the Ben Franklin. 4. The “going rate” (assuming I were going to pay for pussy, which I do not; this information is for those of you illegal thugs who do) appears to “start” lower and be more negotiable in Camden than on the K.

The best surprise of all was the selection of good looking honeys on Broadway. There were a few skank hos that looked like they had just rolled out of a dumpster, and I wouldn’t have picked up if they paid ME triple the going rate. But that seemed to be the exception and not the rule. I found 2 good dates, and I saw a number of other good looking SWs worth trying as well.
