I would say a fair number on the street use it as well. The US originating Tijuana walker I see very often (1-3 hours a week upstairs) and who stands in the alley between clients says she's sees most do something. Coke, meth, whatever.
Tijuana should be jumping on a Thursday to a degree. A Monday is usually dead which is why Cascades gives a great deal to VIP members from HK.
I think mondays and tuesdays, and weds are also good. Prefer to go during the week. It beats going during the weekends when the crowds are bigger. Don't like being squished shoulder to shoulder with other people.

Crossed over to Tijuana a couple saturdays ago and it was amazing just as it usually is. I've been there 4-5 times but it was a first for a couple of buddies of mine. Once we got there we made the mistake of believing one of the taxis that la zona was closed after a shooting and he took us to the new deja vu and it was dead! But it showed my friends the start difference in quality. We took a couple shots and headed to la zona.
Entered HK first, watched a whip creme show. Tons of girls 7-9's and most wanted $ to go upstairs and I didn't feel like negotiating them down. Bounced to chavelas and had a beer. My buddy met a chica with great tits. Took her up for. 8.
While he did his thing the rest of us headed to adelitas. It was absolutely popping. Made a quick pass and found a young chica with great bolt ons for. 7 close to a 9 in my book. Blonde 19 from Michoacand. 5'7 with heels. She was cool not very talkative and the service was really mechanical. Did my thing and head back down.

You can cross, but the Mexican immigration officers will hassle you and warn you that you can only cross once. I forgot my passport. I had to wait a haf hour. The best thing to do is to apply for a passport. They will. Give you a receipt that shows your proof of application. Take your DL and copy of birth certificate and you will be able to cross.

Yupe that passport card comes in handy. Its about the size of a drivers license and fits in your wallet.
