There are a very few casas around here but they're VERY expensive to take advantage of novice tourists.

Most of the casas are located not far from El centro. You'll just want to travel to these spots by Uber. Walking to them from El centro will take you down some of the SKETCHIEST streets you would ever witness this western side of the earth.

My advise would be to stay for a week and spend half the time in laurales so you can enjoy the casas and the women online that catch your eye. And the other half in El Poblado for the atmosphere, restaurants and 10's. You COULD do everything by just traveling out of El Poblado but the traffic gets really bad so the Uber will be longer and more expensive.

As far as avoiding getting drugged, it's not nearly as bad as it used to be years ago but the threat is still there. The first rule is never drink or eat anything around any freelancer. EVER. No matter how trustworthy she comes off. Second rule is if you're discernment is off then get a hotel or Airbnb with 24/7 security.
