You can lock all valuables (keys, wallet, etc) in your car and still gain access back in. It is not advisable to keep just your FOB on you, as if you get robbed, they will now have access to your vehicle. And always park near the office or other high traffic areas so that if someone does try something shady, the thief will be less likely to break in if they know people might see them.
