I guess my reason for posting something so humiliating was to share my experiences and say that, even after 2 years and 60+ positive transactions, keep your wit's about'cha. Maybe I can help someone else not make that same mistake.

It's easy to read the 1-paragraph post-game report and think it was super-obvious, but at the time the hints were spaced and subtle while driving in the rain around rush hour and during LEO check (where you're always thinking what to say or not say, exit strategies, etc) and looking for a spot so my mind was on a dozen things at once. It was only after the situation and compiling it all that it came into focus. You can bet I won't make that mistake again!
