But that still leaves the issue of how to satisfy the strip club itch locally in between treks across the state.

There's a couple of things I do to keep down strip club costs. One is try to visit the clubs during the day whenever I can. That means usually a lot fewer girls working and generally not the cream of the crop (though there are often exceptions) but also fewer other mongers to compete with for the girl's affection / attention and of course never a cover (perhaps the Mons is different in that regard). The second thing I do is to go late in the afternoon (such as after work), so I can catch the tail end of the day shift (and maybe catch the mid-shift if they schedule dancers that way). If I want a change of scene, I'll bounce over to another nearby club BEFORE they start charging their evening cover. Otherwise I'll stick around and wait for the night shift to straggle in. The problem here is that a lot of dancers don't show up for work on time, so as the day shift takes off their replacements aren't all there to take their place and that 7:30-8:30 timeframe can be pretty lame depending on the club. But cheap is cheap and sometimes you don't want to jump through hoops (or drive across the state) just to save a few bucks on cover, so you just bite the bullet and pay the cover to get in (remembering to tip the door girl of course). In that case, just as when you incur excessive driving costs to get to wherever your favorite club is located, you just have to amortize the cover charges across whatever number of dances you wind up getting (typically coming out to less than $1-2 per dance, big woo).

The real problem in the case of the Mons is not so much that they charge ANY cover but that they charge so MUCH (on their dances as well). $20 just to get in when most other clubs charge more in the $5-10 range is just ridiculous, but the Mons can get away with it because of their national fame. They market to out-of-town visitors who don't have any clubs like that where they come from and so don't know how badly they're getting ripped off. As long as the Mons can fill their seats with guys like that, they couldn't care less if all the local guys boycotted them.

And there are inevitably a whole bunch of cheap guys who come just to watch naked ladies jiggle on stage, while tipping little if anything, perhaps not even buying any drinks, etc. Meanwhile, it costs the owners some money for the space, taxes, insurance, electricity and wages for the bar-staff, DJ, waitresses, etc. Does that justify $20 per head at Mons? Perhaps if that's what the market will bear or perhaps not but it seems perfectly reasonable for strip club owners to charge something during prime time just as regular nightclubs and discos do and that normally gets collected when you enter, not when you leave.

The money is for the dance itself (technically just a lap dance or, in the case of VIP, a room charge) and that normally gets collected by the bouncer before you even go in the room (although at the Mons that works a little differently since they don't have separate rooms). If she doesn't deliver on that, you're still out the official price of the dance. Also, often in clubs its not so easy to negotiate ahead of time exactly what type of "extra services" you can expect, especially if you're new to the club. The dancer might assure you suggestively that you'll be "very pleased" but that's about it (and she may conveniently not mention how much of an up-charge she'll expect). Of course, you can negotiate more clearly once you're in the back and insist on holding back your tip till the end but at that point you're already invested for the dance charge which doesn't exactly put you in the strongest position unless you're prepared to settle for a simple but very pricey lap dance. The best you can do in those situations is try to read between the lines based on her other behavior (or reports from other guys who have been with her) and hope for the best, but sometimes you may be disappointed.

I had not been to a strip club in the evening in a long time. And only a few times during the day in the last ten years. On the OBT trail, I have had a girl gently bite my crouch and ask if I wanted to get a room. I have had FS for $100 with no VIP rooms or cons. I straight up proposition to the girl, 'Will you have sex with me for $100". I got a yes or no. Never been thrown out, but had the bouncer eyeing me wondering if I was a cop.

I guess I simply like a sure thing. One of the reasons I love photography, I get to know the models while I photograph them. If I decide to revisit for another purpose, I pay for it (afterwards).

The gold club is the next club I'm going to try, I think they have prime rib on Wednesday around six. I live in Orlando, so it's just as easy for me to go east. I just need to find a cheap place in Tampa because I am not a big spender!

I have friends who live in Central Florida who do the same thing, but they also come over here. Orlando itself is a desert when it comes to good strip clubs. Its hard to beat the $10 lap dances at the Inner Room, but apart from that IMHO the other clubs in that area (Cheaters and Lido) leave a lot to be desired. Over on this coast, we have nothing if not variety with a huge number of clubs. If you're a cheapskate (like me), in general you should forget about any of the upscale clubs near the airport (Mons, 2001, Dollhouse, Penthouse etc). They cater to tourists who fly in to Tampa and don't seem to mind spending a lot of money. Basically, as far as Tampa clubs go, I think you're on the right track with the Gold Club and as long as you're in that Rte 60/ Adamo area you might also want to check out Scarlett's Ybor Strip & Emperors. But, to be really honest with you, I don't personally bother with any of the Tampa clubs even though I live here. Of course, I go to clubs to recruit take-out rather than spend money on in-house dances, so my criteria may be different from yours. I have managed some take-out from some Tampa clubs, but have been much more successful in Pinellas and Pasco (I'm talking about upwards of a couple of dozen different dancers over the last several years, including a couple who wound up moving in with me, but only maybe 2-3 from Tampa clubs). And my Orlando friends also go there as much or even more than the clubs in Tampa even though they're a little further. One of my Orlando friends, even comes over periodically for an overnight visit and gets a hotel near the clubs along US 19 so he can club hop and bring some back to his room.

Sometimes, I have told them I will only pay half up front, but that is a YMMV. Once in a while, you find one that will take half, not perform, and forgo the other half. Other times, it works. Most of the time if it won't work, they seem to tell me up front. Many times, I will get a dance or even two from an honest one and tell her that it is because I appreciate her honesty. The dancers don't go to work to get laid, they go to work to go home with the Franklin twins. If they can attract them from you without ever going in the back, they will. There is not one club on the list where it never happens, although with the camera's OZ is probably the least frequent.

Usually it requires patience, spreading around plenty of green and creating enough of a relationship with women in the club that they trust you, and are willing to show their appreciation. Once one girl in the club knows you're trustworthy, they all know and will let you know they know if they are interested.

Just because they promise you the moon in the bar, doesn't mean it will happen in the back, especially if they sniff out you're a tourist. You do have going for you that the snowbirds have gone home and taken the easy money with them, so women are working a little more flexibly to make sure they make their tipout.

You can also spend lots of time and money wooing a "good girl" and never cross the finish line. Most good girls don't tell you they are until you're in the back. Even the good girls do become bad with some customers. It's a sport not a science. That said there are some "extras girls" who will come on strong and mean it.

That said, I spend most of my time in the Pasco clubs, because there are women in all of them I have become friends with, (well what passes for friendship in a club which basically means they'd ignore you if they see you at the mall), and they are friendly with me.

If you want to play the game, accept it, enjoy it and let her know, then negotiate on your next visit.

My favorite "I" girl and I do the 3 song for 60 and she gets a 40 tip. She always tells me that's just for me, but I'm not so sure, who knows.

Just make sure you both agree on what 'it' is before it's time to tip, which comes when the dance is done. If you become a regular most are willing to reach a better accommodation for a frequent flyer.

Frankly for that $175 or $200 for 15 minutes you can spend an hour with some amazing talent in Pasco who will leave you walking funny for a week. A lot of them the same girls you'll find in the club. I party with the club girls just because I like some of them. It's a sport.

Went to YS Tuesday night, about 8 pm. $10 cove, 1 drink min. Got a $5 iced tea.

I had someone tell me it's $30 a dance at odessey and $400 for 15 minute in VIP. Can that be true? I was planning a trip there with friends and coming from Cocoa I can't see how they could get that much more a couple hours away. Am I wasting my time when $10 gets you a hand job here?

It is all out in the open and not looked over as in IR. As for 2001, they do have private rooms and the spaceship booths which have curtains. Starting prices are around $175 and go up from there. It is mostly miss than hit and not a cheap lottery ticket as the $10 "try me" dances at IR. Closest to IR in fun are probably the St. Pete clubs like Atlantis but quality of girls is a lot lower than Mons /2001.

Mons has no VIP room and 2001 wants our livers to enter their VIP room, and there is no guarantee for a good service. Girls at Mons are hot though.

If you are into girls that are slender and hot, stay an hour or two at Mons to get you going, and get hour 'happy ending' at Atlantis, or pretty much any clubs in Pasco Counties (Allure, Lolly Pop, ICON, etc.). Stay safe.
