Their main opponents would be feminist organizations that are blindly dedicated to the idea that women get into sex work only through some sort of coercion and exploitation. In our PC-dominated world those cats are hard to go against.

Many female journalists are members of such organizations and would cover the topic accordingly. Conservative female commentators would join them from the "family preservation angle". In this topic male journalists would be irrelevant. Some will squick here and there but nothing major.

Even Rand Paul will try to avoid commenting on the topic, still if forced will come out on legalization side. Their most weighty supporters may end up being veteran organizations that represent veterans with combat-related disabilities.

It's an uphill climb. Still if it gets as far as Supreme Court, I think we'll get it legalized. I don't think decriminalization is realistic no matter how you slice it. You mean make it legal and free of Uncle Sam tax collector? Yea right.

What I would mind is governmental regulations. If they were reasonable that would be alright, but I doubt it. Look at Nevada.
