This is what happened to me this week. But I agree my standard plan is start researching on all the sites 2 weeks prior to my trip. I find that in the major cities LA, San Fran or Houston it is like shooting fish in a barrel. Offer to meet them at a high end restaurant bar / steak house and all is well. In the smaller cities Boise, St Cloud, Topeka (no offense to anyone living there) it is a bit harder. Most of the time we meet at an Apple bees or similar place far from where they live so they do not run across anyone they know, which is fine with me (no drama).

In the small cities / towns showing up in a high end rental car and treating them like a queen and taking them shopping they fall over themselves. Offer to pay half / full of their rent for the month and they will do what ever you want for as long as you want. She is real and in Boston alright. Just not sure about everything else.
