I know, I know ... However, the funny thing is that on the next day after I posted my message the same area was filled with LE cars. I counted at least 3 of them, and no smiles and long looks.

This makes a lot of sense. Another reason we should see more SWs is fewer LE agents out there to bust them. Police departments determine how many cops they need based on some complex math that factors in the amount of crime taking place. In all the news reports crime has dropped a lot, especially in Milwaukee. With Wisconsin state's budget $5B in the hole there are cuts everywhere. And the reduced number of cops out there will have to focus on the more major crimes & less on the minor stuff - like how a woman makes a few bucks to put food on the table.

All this is theory, of course. I'm keeping my eyes open.

Several arrests for prostitution and drug use have been made during the past week at Super 8 hotel, 115 N. Mayfair Road.

According to Wauwatosa Police Department reports:

On Jan. 19, about 4 p.m., a 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for trying to sell crack cocaine in the hotel parking lot. He said he supports his family through drug sales and had about $800 in cash. He was referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

Earlier that day, around 10:30 a.m., a 26-year-old Onalaska man was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession after police found four used crack pipes, a marijuana pipe and three spoons with burned residue in his hotel room. He said he had come to the area to buy drugs, and he and a 31-year-old Madison woman had smoked crack cocaine in the room a few days prior.

The woman also said she had been prostituting herself at the hotel for several weeks to pay for her habit. The Onalaska man had a warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Correction for violating probation, while the woman had several recent prostitution arrests on her record. Wauwatosa police did not arrest her for prostitution for the Jan. 19 incident.

The next day, though, a 34-year-old Madison woman was arrested for prostitution as she arrived to meet a man at the hotel about 11 p.m. She had been advertising her "erotic services" online on craigslist. She brought a variety of prescription drugs as well as a bag full of sex toys and condoms.

Police officials said hotels often see a higher rate of these crimes, but the Super 8 does not see more activity than other similar establishments in the Milwaukee area and that Wauwatosa hotel management has always been cooperative with police when it comes to investigations.
