It's about the money, and the police station and tow company get paid no matter what was discussed. You can try to fight it in court but in the long run it will probable cost you double to fight it in court than it would be to just accept the petty charge and towing fees. I went through something similar in November of 2011 and posted it on here. And the judge flat out told me: we really don't want to put solicitation down on your record (which I actually never even did) , so how about we reduce this to disorderly conduct, which goes away after you pay the 1200$ fine. Of course I was like "what the f*k"? Then she made me come closer to her and said "you'll probably be paying more than double trying to fight the case. The police are going to make their quota anyways" they ha me steepen a rock and a hard place. I'm just happy it's all over now.

Heard a few years ago that a young provider out that way had been nabbed by LE and basically the cops got the guys visiting her to admit what they did. "girl said you did this, girl said you said that". Under pressure the guys all caved. No need to have $$ discussion, videos or anything else.

Only so I can learn from this situation beyond the much appreciated warning. Since no money actually exchanged hands and the two participants weren't even in physical proximity to one another, what charge could actually be leveled against the guy (intent?) For that matter, does LEO have the right to have someone fork over their cell phone without a warrant? Here's a rule to remember: don't ever, EVER, talk to the police. They have NO power to promise deals, let you off "easy" if you cooperate, or ANYTHING. They can only make arrests, period. You shouldn't even be polite: just say NOTHING. The only talking that will be done is between your attorney and the prosecutor and / or judge; that's it. This hold for client and provider both: never, ever, ever say one word, even "what did I do?" or "can I get a drink of water" or ANYTHING, and certainly never sign ANYTHING, even a ticket.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't "stick"; it's a major inconvenience.
One of the greatest powers the police have is the ability to make anyone's life suck badly, at least for a period of time, with little chance for repercussions (as long as they don't beat you or summarily execute you). That has a great deterrent effect!

If there are no laws on the books to confiscate a vehicle based on a specified violation, such as soliciting, then you have a case; however, your point about "making one's life suck badly" is understood. On one hand based on the ad alone I would have said "TGTBT" 18 year old WHITE cute blond for $80? Yeah right. I wouldn't have tried her.
