Business is down now for the last two years and prices for almost everything have gone up significantly this last year on almost everything. From fuel, to food, to slumping tourism- compounded by bad legislation.

I don't think it is cheap charlies, because even Pigskins Sports bar announced a dollar per beer increase last month citing rising costs. That place has no bargirls and tends to cater to the budget crowd. I'll find the extra buck, but the $40 drink shit in the hostess bars really needs to stop however.

I totally agree. I got stunned by those over a year ago. The girl would ask for a drink and I'd give her a $Jackson. Then she'd come back with the drink and ask me for another $Jackson. I told her that I already bought her one, and her reason to justify the monetary request was because it was a double shot. I told her to fuck herself and left.

However, if the IDIOTS who are paying the $40 drink continue, the other bars will follow, and that will be a sad day. I even say we ban the little shot glass drink that they swig in a millisecond. You will be suprised, if you ask them to drink a beer or something larger, they will. In this slow time, you can get away with more than you think, just speak up and NO be shy. We ALL need to band together and boycott the establishments that think they can get away with ripping us off. For those of you that are paying $40. Stop it! Before you ruin it for everyone. I have lots of money to spend. But I have none to WASTE. Come on people, use your head. (not your small one)

Was expecting most if not all of the bars on Kapiolani to be slow,since had the water main break. But seemed pretty busy last night,since it was friday;after all.Got in after 10,place seemed packed. But scanned the place over and noticed lots of girls seemed to not be sitting with any guys. Was approached by Silvia(?) asked for a drink,but told her to come back later. Thought she got the hint that I didn't want any company. But 5 mins. later comes back,so I said wth and doled out a Jackson. Silvia is about 5'3, hair past shoulders and B-cups. Told me shes been here 2 weeks(what is with these girls and this "I only been here for 2 weeks BS) and is originally form Cali. Drank her shot too quickly so cut her off after the second drink(I know,I should have cut her off after the first one). After I left I saw her at NSN! I could have sworn she told me she was only working at SL! WTF!

She has been around for a while since I got to the island 3 yr. Ago. Never tried getting play from her but have gotten her a drink before. If the girl is hot,then sometimes I just say fuck it and buy her a GLD.But if they not hot or ripped me off the last time I was there then I politely decline. You can get some play from her but you will be spending as much as you would pay at an AMP IMHO. Also beware when she is working at NSN. She will try to entice you to go to the side booths (1 on diamond head side and 2 on ewa side in nsn), take you to the side booths and take your $20 but then come back saying the mama says that the side booths are for $40 drinks only. If this happens to you, best to cut your losses and get out of there. You will get some play for a few minutes but she will then ask you for more drinks 5 minutes later. At $40 a pop and her drinking fast? Not worth it if you ask me.
