FB ferrets info from YOUR contacts
I made sure to turn off the option to allow fb to use my contacts and email. I haven't seen anyone in my "people you may know" list from the hobby life show up in my feed. These apps are tricky and are making it harder to keep the wall up between hobby life and personal life. For those with something to lose if an SO finds out, you're probably better off with a burner with a lock.
I made the mistake NOT having a burner phone and found 4 providers I saw as possible friends BECAUSE my number was in their contact list.
Lesson learned.
1. burner phonesONLY.
2. block immediately when I see a provider.
3. deleted FB account.
Exposing a resource on a public posting board and telling providers maybe not smart?
I don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. FB is just another resource to get info and stay safe. My point was that the numbers these two ladies use in their ads belong not to them but to some guys who would seem to be managing them, so when you call or text their numbers, you aren't dealing with an independent provider, as the ads would seem to imply. I've no earthly idea why you would find pointing that out to be offensive.
Providers read all the stuff on these pages and use this site as a resource, so you might think you are helping hobbyist but really you are killing that resource because most of these ladies who you think are dumb providers are really smart ladies cashing in on a fellas need to get off. How they use your money after they get it is their choice but now they know to remove their phone numbers from Facebook and you chuckle about how smart you think you are. I bet even hobbyist who think they are getting brownie points with providers by telling them doesn't help either. Maybe its just me thinking this but oh well.
