First off, if this was an you / see operation to bust you they would have never come down the street with lights and sirens blaring; just isn't how it works. What I would be tempted to do is, go to municipality and look at call run sheets for response to calls by patrol units and see exactly what they were responding to at that time in that area. There will be a record of it if they were in alerted pursuit as you stated. Furthermore, if they were coming after you they have your phone number already, so if you were involved in some crime, as they perceive, the po-po would come a knockin, at least via your phone number. There is some disconnect in this story somewhere, either the police are no aware of your contacts with her via text msg, or they were answering another call (coincidence) or some other explanation.
Furthermore, with the luck you had this weekend I wouldn't be walking underneath any structures overhead or else something is lible to drop square between your ears. Wow.
