(2) The phone issue happened prior to the event. Her phone was taken, and she was phone-less for a period of time. A new phone (and number) was purchased for her, and the old phone, now retrieved, was given to someone she knows that needed a phone and number.

At the street level, they are more interested in collecting information about things like violence, murder, and drug trafficking and drug houses. I have heard it referred to as "working the chain". There is not much of a chain as far as we are concerned unless your are involved in other more serious criminal behaviors. Additionally, these types of arrests are less likely to get you promoted / recognition for your LOE efforts compared to real crime arrests.

They don't usually use real SW to sting guys for variety of reasons. They are using informers mostly to find out about drugs and felonies. I was also strolling in the area the night of the arrests luckily I didn't see any action. I doubt they would have published her if she was working with LEO. I know one thing is certain I will be certainly more careful in the area.

We know that much. And the seedier underbelly of the game has always been dangerous. We both believe in the freedom of choice and the right to bear arms.

My choices of protection requires more than one card to register them. For those in the know will understand that statement. With that many choices. I chose wisely for the situation and concealment required.

Two places I don't carry. Where there is a detector. And my work. My work rules I respect because they provide me a proper living and armed security of the facility.

Warren was pointing out the cop did the right thing in protecting himself. I point out that if I gave up the money. And I could leave safely. I would have chosen to leave safe. No publicity. No embarassment to my family. No legal hoops to jump through. Believe me though. If my life was in danger. Appropriate actions would be deployed.

We are not imposing our will on others. We are pointing out choices and believe in choices. You have the full right to protect yourself from theft and attack. But that too has a price if you are in a less than savory situation. Please note....former Albany police officer....and probably divorsed former Albany police officer....I believe in and protect(ed) our Constitutional Rights. But the real life implications of how we do it day to day is also A CHOICE left to the individual.
