DIY Reports of Distinction
Apparently it is up to us to start our own Reports of Distinction threads in the USASexGuide. I cannot do so yet because I have almost 2 months to go until senior membership. Here is how a senior member did it:
[QUOTE=LoveLOS]Greetings everyone,
Per Jackson's brilliant idea on ISG, I've started this new thread to provide a centralized location to catalog the Forum's best informational reports. Here's the idea:
If you have written one or several detailed travel reports, or if you know of such reports, then please post the [b]link[/b] here.
You may also include a short summary of the nature of the report.
A [red][u][b]sample report[/b][/u][/red] would be something like this:
============================================
Here's a fucked up series of reports by BSR and LL on effective use of Google and USG/ISG for finding information for use in mongering
[post=491874]LoveLOS on how to RTFF[/post]
[post=491674]Bench Seats Rock on using Google[/post]
============================================
You can copy and paste the link into a report, or you can do it the easy way and use the [post] tags, which you would format like this:
[post]Post ID number here[/post]
[post=Post ID number here]Whatever you want your link to say here[/post]
You can identify the Post ID by moving your mouse pointer over the "Quote" button and reading the Post ID number in the Status Bar at the bottom of your browser window. It's the last number at the end of the link text, just after the letters "p=".
Hopefully your contributions here and the subsequent use of this thread will reduce many of the stupid RTFF questions and subsequent RTFF stupid newbie firefights we wade thru here...

I'm not sure these examples came through in their entirety. If not look in DC or do an advanced search for LoveLOS posts - DN.
Search/New Reports working now
Neither New Reports or the Search function were working for me yesterday either. I got an error message that there was a problem accessing the database or something. However, both are working now.
I get logged off if I spend too much time writing a post
If I take more than about 5 minutes to write a post, I am prompted to re-enter by username and password after I hit the "submit report" button. After I log back in, the text of my post is gone.
I've been working around this by copying the post to the clipboard and then pasting it back after logging in. This is a bad solution for a shared computer. If the clipboard isn't cleared, control-V can paste it again.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls how long it takes to log you off while you are writing a post?
