Girls are independent contractors, and in many clubs they do not have a set schedule. You may encounter women who work both weekdays and weekends, only weekends, or only weekdays. $100 is plenty if you just want to pay the cover fee, tip the stage a little, and get a dance or two. Now if you're looking for higher mileage, depending on the club that you choose, you may have to up the budget a little.

In LA, Sam's Hofbrau is fun if you are OK with topless only. Closer to LAX, King Henry also has inexpensive laps.

If you can make it to the San Fernando Valley, VIP I think still has $15 laps. Red Tie has free admission, but laps are $30 each. Songs are long though. VIP is $80 for four songs, so you can definitely get out for $100 if you are wise. Deja Vu North Hollywood is probably still the best club as far as dancer quality and variety, with $20 laps, but you will be limited by the time you are done with cover and drink and a couple of stage tips.

Don't know exact prices any more, because I haven't been getting out for a while.

Recently had offerings for extras at SR in COI, Synn in COI, Sahara Theater in Anaheim, Tropical Lei in Upland, 4 Play (upstairs), and Bare Elegance (closer to home). Your instincts are also good. Your 5 Benjamins should get you at least 2-3 gratifying VIP experiences along the right track. Of course many of the girls will test your sucker potential and suggest a bloated tip. But the market price is established along most of the track and you can just shoo them away if they demand overreaching tips because the majority of dancers who do extras will accept pretty close to the same tipping scale depending on the service as you expect at an AMP. That is plus the club's fee to give you access to a VIP room. Overall the price then will be perhaps slightly higher than the AMP and for less time. FS for 15-30 minutes will usually cost no more than $200-250 (tip and VIP house fee included) and less for other modes of gratification. There are also diamond babes out there who don't hustle tips at all and will be happy with donations of any amount. My approach with these sweethearts is to be at least fair and sometimes tip extra (and perhaps that's their secret strategy). As in most varieties of mongering, avoid tipping until the end of a dance or VIP session though you usually will have to pay the house fee on the front end.

It seems that there are now at least rogue providers scattered among the full nude clubs throughout LA and OC, but there are districts around the region where extras are routinely available from all or most dancers. I'll say that the SFV is NOT one of these districts so generally any offers coming to you in these clubs are from rogue providers and should be regarded with more caution than in the more tolerant districts. But like I said, you are pretty much scouting the right path.
