Just a reminder that there are what look to be police cameras on 103rd. Looks to be starting at 295 and going west, don't know how far west, but at least a block or two past the Publix.
I wasn't out trying to pick anything up, just happened to be in the area last night, and they pretty clearly WANT you to notice them. They've got blinking red and blue lights on them. I don't know if they're bright enough to notice in daylight, or even if the lights are on during the day. I think they were all on the south side of the street?
No idea if they're real or decoys, but I would assume they're real, pointed both directions, and cover both sides of the street.

Yeah, they turn on when they hear gunshots. Allegedly, they don't record continuously. Besides, nobody is going through that much effort to stop a victimless misdemeanor.

Just saw that they were there and that someone had mentioned that the walkers in that area were hiding from them.
They're definitely more than just the boxes that can hear gunshots, though. You wouldn't need the spacing that they have (or the physical size they are) just to triangulate a gunshot location. But, continuous listening with cameras that trigger on, I could see. It's a little bit different these days, of course, when 24 hours of surveillance video can fit onto something you can buy for $20 at best buy, as opposed to needing 4 billion feet of videotape. I would almost assume that they're constantly recording and would just decide to save at least the previous 4 hours if they hit a trigger event, but that is purely an assumption.
As for effort vs. Results, I guess I've seen too much policing activity based on what will get someone on the news versus what will actually help. I personally would rather have the addicts sucking dick than breaking into my house, but I'm not running for any office.

Can't see why they'd have a camera that records after a crime and miss evidence. But I'm not sure. I've also thought they could just be decoys to run off crime. Either way I never see girls on that side of 103rd walking anymore.

I'm sure those lights got the SW paranoid and thus the lack of walking activity on the main road.
