Of course the idea urks me just like it does you. But it's not the first, second or third; I witness this often enough that I don't find it surprising anymore.

I wouldn't necessarily put it solely on the guy. Some of these gals use the guys because they don't have a vehicle, the guy does, and he is smitten with the girl. So, it works both ways, both being equally guilty.
