Many guys either don't know how to proficiently perform reverse image searches or don't bother to do so. Sorry to seem to glib, but really. It's because it's Backpage, and in many cases it attracts guys who don't know any better. It was the same case 10 years ago when CL a huge conduit of providers advertising online.
Like Redneck pointed out, a lot of guys don't know how to do reverse image searches. But they also probably don't know about sites like these or the other escort mall sites. They don't want to cruise the track (and to be fair, there's not much in the way of real, biological women working DT these days) and in many cases, the girls that work in Waikiki won't give a local the time of day. So, why not Backpage? All those outraged sheriffs and sex-trafficking advocates have done nothing but drive more traffic to the site.
I personally don't like Backpage because so many of the girls are obviously pimped. I'm also very suspicious anytime a girl tells me she's "new". Usually that means she doesn't know what she's getting into and will give lousy service (if she really is new to begin with).
I've always done everything I could to do as much research as I can. If something feels weird, walk away. I've been at a girl's door at a motel, then walked on by because a guy was just hanging around outside. Doing a reverse image search is the least you can do, IMO.
