I highly doubt that, but if anyone know what he's talking about let me know. Ha.

I guess the good thing about this trip, that guy saved me $250+ I would have put towards supporting the good ole Mexican economy.

I walk past all the people in the foreigner line and walk straight through the Mexican nationals side. The agent just looks at the FMM to see if it expired. No issues and I prefer not having to wait in the foreigner line.

I said I was going to eat at a restaurant and they asked which one and I said HK. He promptly motioned me to the back room with my passport card. Border patrol will let you back into country, just try not to bring anything back on the prohibited list.

It is worth picking up a enough Spanish so you know the numbers (at least to $100), days of the week and a few simple phrases.

You can find sex workers who speak various amounts of English, but as a rule of thumb the more English they speak the lower their service and the higher their prices (because they are in demand and can get away with it). If they speak no English and you speak no Spanish, there's still hand signals and money talk -- even the least fluent girl there can still say "One hundred dollars, baby".

I'll be returning to mecca for the first time since before the whole covid disaster. Hopefully, I'll get some quality beach time in the late mornings / early afternoons. Not sure if lyft / uber will be a viable option for that type of endeavor, but I'm going to find out.

I was planning on getting my global entry card. When I looked up ready lanes, it shows that a passport card, or you can upgrade your drivers license to an enhanced I'd but California does not offer this yet.

Those are two totally different programs.[/QUOTE]I didn't realize that a Real ID gave any preference at the border. I've had Global Entry since the program first started and that card is GOLD. It does everything SENTRI does and more. GE is the shortest line when returning to the US from Mexico and has saved me countless hours. If there's a long line just walk to the front and show it and you get directed to a very short line. When landing in the US on an international flight you likewise bypass the sometimes very long immigration lines and go straight to a kiosk and minutes later you're standing at baggage claim usually before it starts spinning. Then after you get your luggage you go to a special customs line and I have always just been waved through without a bag search.

Also it includes TSA Pre too, so you can get the shorter line at security for US domestic flights where you don't have to take your shit out of your bag or remove your shoes. Not only is the Pre line shorter, it moves way faster.

It's a bit harder to get and you have to go through an interview but it's no big deal. It has a 5 year renewal and my first renewal was done online, no interview. My second renewal I had to go to Otay Mesa and do an interview again. But it's totally worth it.

Bottom Line: get Global Entry.

It does everything SENTRI does and more. GE is the shortest line when returning to the US from Mexico and has saved me countless hours. When landing in the US on an international flight you likewise bypass the sometimes very long immigration lines and go straight to a kiosk and minutes later you're standing at baggage claim usually before it starts spinning. Then after you get your luggage you go to a special customs line and I have always just been waved through without a bag search.

Also it includes TSA Pre too, so you can get the shorter line at security for US domestic flights where you don't have to take your shit out of your bag or remove your shoes. Not only is the Pre line shorter, it moves way faster.

It's a bit harder to get and you have to go through an interview but it's no big deal. It has a 5 year renewal and my first renewal was done online, no interview. My second renewal I had to go to Otay Mesa and do an interview again. But it's totally worth it.
