Hobbyists, I have a question about something that's happened recently. I've received a few unsolicited calls from a provider I've seen in the Pinellas area. I've seen her and a friend of hers at least three times in the past, and had a good time with them. I wasn't expecting to hear from them, as I haven't seen them in a little over a month or so. They haven't said anything during these calls that sound like they were trying to set me up for Uncle Leo, but I'm a little concerned just about being called out of the blue. (FYI, I live alone and I'm not in any sort of relationship, so I'm not worried about a significant other finding out about the hobby.)
I don't live in Pinellas (Hell, I don't even live in Tampa!) , so if they *were* trying to set me up, I'm not sure why they'd want to bring me over to be set up by Uncle Leo. Seems like too much effort for the trouble. But am I missing something here?
Also, since *they* called *me, am I justified in using that to negotiate a lower rate? ("Hey, ladies, *you* called *me, not the other way around. That should count for something in *my* favor.")
Your thoughts?

Short answer: more homework needed.
It would greatly help if you "provided" the names and numbers of these girls. If they're good it's certain someone else has seen them.
Unless you told them it was OK, it's usually not good when a provider cold calls clients.
It's fine to negotiate a lower rate, but if they're desperate, you might get ripped off.

I too live alone and have had several providers call me asking if I need something. Since I had seen these girls before, I had no concerns about safety. As a matter of fact I usually answer: "Not really. But what is the lowest you would come out for?" I have had a number of very nice (and low cost) sessions that way. LEO never entered my mind. Alot of these girls text every guy in there Contact list to drum up business when they are slow. It has been happening forever. Or they will tell you what serious emergency they "think" they are having. Then all they do is take your money and go to the dope man.
Unless your in need just blow them off and you will see how low these ladies will really go. It is amazing and fun to play lets see how desperate you really are. You will win the price wars since she is calling you in need. When you call her the price just skyrocketed and its not in your favor.

She claimed she was just checking on me since she had not heard anything from me in a while. Honestly I only saw her once and one of her friends 2 or 3 times and was caught off guard when she called. I simply told her things were tight due to the holiday and didn't have any extra $ and she quickly got off the phone.

She was in the Red Roof Inn on US19 (near Outback in Palm Harbor) for a while and was at the EconoLodge on Busch a few years back.

I asked them to take my number out of their phones but that does not always happen. I try to contact providers from payphones when I can and just explain to them why I am using a payphone. Most are cool with it and those who aren't don't get my business.

You can get a very reasonable pre-paid / pre-loaded phone at just about any store these days (eg., Walmart). For a few books, you get texting, calls, voice-mail, and peace of mind. Store it with your spare tire in your car, turned off until you need it.
Just a thought. I would, of course, never do such a thing.

John[/QUOTE]Of course, to be super high-tech, just get a free Google Voice account. That way, you get a free, untraceable, private, phone number. You can then send / receive text messages (SMS) from your computer, or have it contact your cell phone to place voice calls. Very slick, and very easy to use. Again, activate it when you need it, and silence it when anywhere near the SO. I have been doing this for years and it works just fine. If you have an iPhone, there is even an app that will allow you to use your GVoice account (and properly control it so that no one has to know).
