History: Dayton Clubs Owned By Larry Flynt
DC Senior here. I lived in your fair city from 1976-78. I rented a house in Huber Heights from a woman who told me that she managed two strip clubs in Dayton: The Ballbuster and The Crazy Horse. As I recall, I think they were located on the road that bordered the southern end of Wright-Patterson AFB.
The woman was pleasant enough and was a great landlady. She had a reasonably attractive teenage daughter who used to come around with her.
In mid-1977, I was outside talking with a neighbor on a warm summer day. Among other things, he asked me if I knew about my landlady's "famous daughter. " I said that I had met her a few times with her mom and she seemed like a decent kid. He asked me to wait a minute, runs back inside his house, and returns carrying something which turned out to be the July 1977 issue of "Hustler. " The daughter was the centerfold, and, there she was in all her spread-eagled, full-bush glory. The accompanying text used her real name and that she worked with her mom in Larry Flynt's strip club in Dayton called The Ballbuster. The magazine said she was 18. I'll leave it at that.
Just a few weeks earlier, I had received a package from the IRS to Larry Flynt at my Huber Heights address. I sent that hot potato right back with a "nobody by that name at this address note. Hustler had only been out a few years, and I wasn't that familiar with the magazine. I don't recall buying it regularly and I had to go out and get a copy of the July issue. But, Larry was in the news almost daily because of the obscenity stuff going on in Cincinnati. So, all of this made sense when it all came together.
I never went to either club (just never got there) and, after the daughter was in Hustler, I purposely didn't go to the clubs.
I'm just curious if anyone remembers either of these clubs. I'm not even sure if they were nude or just topless. It would be fun to read a story or two from you guys who remember the clubs and had actually gone there. I'm happy to PM with more details, including names. You can find jpegs of the issue and the daughter on-line if you spend a few minutes.
Thanks!
