Sitting at home, flipping through the channels, come across Vegas Undercover on MS NBC. Did anyone else see that show? The part about where the police are targeting the pimps (no objection there) and the SW's (uh oh) particularly caught my attention.

I saw it. I always get a kick out of the vice LEO who says the same thing, show after show. "Prostitution is dangerous" in a very moralistic tone.
Of course it is, anytime you make something illegal it becomes dangerous.
I thought the bait car bit was total garbage. The guy who stole it was not even thinking about doing something illegal but they leave an Escalade unlocked, keys in the ignition & running! I always leave my car that way.
I love Vegas but Metro is the only LE in the country that really makes me nervous.
It's about time the cops target the pimps. They are the ones causing the problems. I just hate it when there is some action out and the pimps chase girls. The problem is that it scares the SW's away.

Alternative to Dodge Charger is still the faster, bigger Ford Crown Victoria. What I really want to point out, though, is that you can't go be vehicle make and color. In my 30+ visits to LV, and hundreds of passes up and down BH, as well as other known strolls, I've seen all kinds of vehicles with flashing lights. With those awful, bad, criminal providers in cuffs or looking into cars. Even Ford F150 pickups and SUVs (Expedition? ). Bottom line, any decent-sized vehicle with some real pursuit speed could turn out to be something LE has bought or seized and adapted for unmarked work, including routine traffic patrols.

Well, reporting on the provider/talent agent/manager relationships in LV has to be more informative, not to mention interesting, than their political cr*p....
Personally, I think LE can target SWs every day from now until doomsday, but like the poor, they'll still be with us. So many women arrive in LV expecting to make it big as a showgirl, or actress (even porn), and find out that they are the 1, 000th person in line for the job. And the rent is gonna be due on the first even if they didn't get a gig dancing, or cocktail-pushing, or whatever. New chickens every few days, aren't there? And plenty of "managers" to recruit them, give them a place to stay, $5 a day for food, and turn them out to make the next Escalade/rent payment. If we get rid of all that pimp scum, some of the chickens will have to be transgendered roosters to manage the business, won't they?

We would all like to think it would mean more choices for us if they weren't around but I'm not so sure.
Most of us really don't think about the pimp factor when we procure the services of a SW, CG or even a brothel worker. If he is out of sight, he's out of mind. If I see one, I avoid. So in the chase aspect, I agree with you there.
We also don't want to analyze the gals mindset, unless she is a total whack job & just want her out of our car. The pimp can mind screw with the lady & talk them into anything if they are vulnerable. I hate manipulators of the weak in any walk of life.
So it's sort of a chicken-egg scenario. Were they "recruited" after being indy's first or where they pimped out right away? Would they be in the biz or stay in the biz on their own?
While we would like to think every WG is an indy & their idea, we will never really know. I will shed no tears for the pimp but they will always be around.
I agree the pimps will always be around. The pimps are a nuisance and attract unwanted attention from the cops and the public. The pimps also drive up the prices as well. A lot of people disagree about this, but I have seen this occur on at least 4 or 5 times.
For those of you that frequent the Trop and Decatur area, I just went to the BofA at that intersection and saw about 10 police Black and Whites behind the bank, between the bank and Home Depot, so there appears to be some sort of crackdown going on tonight. And I'm guessing its not a DUI crackdown.

Not so.
Economics will push girls to provide services. There are plenty of guys willing to show them the ropes without taking a cut. Happens everyday where a girl thinks about it, posts an innocuous ad on cl, a guy looking for some side action responds, and instant turned out ho, without the involvment of a pimp.
Pimps are leaches and parasites. They are dangerous thugs and if LE ever decided to target them, it would make this hobby a LOT safer.

Speck, I think you probably wanted to disagree with me not Hargrow.
If economics is then reason for the final push, is during good or bad times? SW, CG. etc seem to be there for both. There are always going to be many "reasons" to take the leap. These good Samaritans you mention are there but so is hubby or boyfriend encouraging his lady to TOFFT.
While I agree there will always be indys, there will always be pimps. I agree that the world would be better off without these silverfish but we would be living in a fantasy world by wishing them away.
While I have no problem with LE nailing these scumbags, there is always someone to step in a take over.

Driving in the area of Bonanza between Rancho and MLK and saw a few low dollar girls. One late thirties or so hispanic nothing to spend much time on. Could not get to her before she disappeared. Stopped to talk to a short, dark skin, girl in the same area, but she was crazy. Wanted her pimp to come along and wanted .5 for head. Neither of those things were going to happen so moved on out of the area. Thia area can be quite productive or a ho ghost town, YMMV.

I was in that area one day about a month ago an picked up a WSW, .2 for a BBBJS. She wasn't hot at all, but for just pulling in to get gas an happening up on her it was pretty sweet, nice to, seemed like an indy.
