Going to try my luck. Where are the skinny / attractive girls??
It'll be a few weeks before I get to see for myself, but based off of what I see on Instagram, maybe only cafe dang jumps out to me as a place to check out. Where are the actual asian women? The look of most women on ig tells me that potential strippers took over the coffee scene because just googling cafe lu before:2015 brings up more attractive / hot girls that were asian. Now it looks like it's just all about being thicc (or just plain old thick) and wearing nothing. Someone mentioned some other places that don't do dances or near nudity, but still lightly clothed women that are hot. I'll probably hit up Quan vui, Quan khat, or some other place someone else can suggest like that.

Quan vui, 168, and 369 solo visits
Actually my trip got moved up so I hit up these 3 places solo on the same day. So word is that Quan vui is just a hangout spot with no rounds, just eye candy. That was basically true. Honestly, not bad looking at all, and actual Viet girls since I heard them speaking Viet with some customers. The girls also give decent bad girl vibes. Kind of ABG but 2 of the 3 I saw serving had noticeable back tattoos. Attire was a negligee top with short shorts underneath and platform heels. I wouldn't really go here alone unless you just needed a quick break. The clientele includes some combination of Viet, older, smoking, and lottery tickets. The girls would come around for refills but they don't really talk to you, so you're just paying for a marked up drink and lotto tickets if you want to play. As I paid for my drink, the girl at the front turned to walk away somewhat quickly as I was putting my money in my wallet. I wanted to ask if they could break my 20 before I headed to 168, but she wasn't waiting for me so I also assumed tips weren't necessarily a thing. If I were a regular, I would tip a couple but I was just scouting it out. The other guys weren't tipping as the girls were refilling tea every now and then.
I hit up 168 next, around 1 pm. It was bigger and a little more open than I expected. The short story is that I tipped 2 x, 2 x, 1 x, all at least $2 and nobody really went to sit with me. I tipped every time someone came by except the time right before I left. The girl who saw me as I got seated brought back a drink and I tipped her $3. I realized I didn't have a water / iced tea cup so I waited for a girl I found attractive, Kelly, to come by and tipped her $3 when she got me it. She introduced herself and mentioned my name again when she came around a bit later. I tipped $3 again when she came with a refill but she didn't really stop to talk after that. I stayed for a bit over 40 minutes, and the table in front of me and to the back had a bigger Hispanic guy and an older white guy both flying solo. A couple of girls stopped to sit with the Hispanic guy behind me, but I noticed they didn't stay long even though he had a stack of ones out LOL. The white guy was there before me and I only saw one girl stop to hug him. A couple of other girls came to refill here and there so I tipped $2 to both, but it seemed like the girls in general weren't really trying to hit up the solo guys. Besides us 3, I remember seeing a couple of other guys not getting much action. Maybe I could have tried to chat Kelly up a bit more but the vibe of the place just didn't do it for me. If she sat down to talk to me, I probably would've given her $10 or 20 as things went along. But I wanted to check out the vibes more than grab ass so I didn't mind saving my wallet the trouble. A good 5-6 girls were also there that didn't stop at my table for water rounds.
Since 168 was a bit lackluster, I decided to stop by 369 right after. I decided not to stay too long since the girl I was interested in and tipped 2 x $3 seemed a little standoffish. I noticed a couple of girls stopped for a while with other customers though. I stayed maybe like 15-20 minutes and tipped $1 to the only other person that came by for a water round. I wasn't that interested in the others so I figured I wasn't going to wait around too long.
I know Starz / dd get mentioned here but they sound more like a casual strip club and the posts on IG support that. 168 and 369 are too open for lapdances and don't seem to have a private dance area, so even though some girls were naked it didn't feel super sleazy. Honestly I wasn't expecting much and scoping these places out cost me like $25 in drinks and $20 in tips. I feel like the scene isn't really for me. In theory, initiating a convo to grab ass is kind of enticing, but I'm not into strip clubs so who could've guessed it would be disappointing, right? I figured if you tipped, they would either drop a casual introduction question or come by later to talk more and size you up. A lot of the girls at 168 were moving back and forth between the back room and the seating area, sometimes to give drinks but it felt like they were just kind of aimlessly moving around. That probably put me off from trying harder to talk but oh well. I don't think I'll hit up any of these places again before I leave.
