Rubbing a body is kinda like giving a massage, and if it's "kinda like" that and if you hired someone that didn't go for the 500 hours of school required for the licence and didn't have a licence, that's a Massage License violation. See this is what they can pile on with. I owned a bar in Milwaukee once, got busted for an undercover underage sting ordering a drink. And I as the owner as well as the bartender got fined too. I'm sure they want to go after the owners as well.

Now to be fair, they also have a lot to prove. Do they have video tape or a recording of it all. I would think they better if they want to prove their case. Not just "she touched me there" that ain't enough. Did the Asian places popping up as they do all over the country throw up the red flags to LEO? I think that was the final straw. I think the two places were fine and they never bothered anybody but when people saw the more places popping up that's where they drew a line in the sand.

Hell there are people getting shot, beaten, committing robberies, heck even speeding driving 100+ on the highways and no one to give them an arrest or a ticket- ugh! My belief has always been that if the powers that be want to do something they will do it regardless of what's written on this forum or how we feel about it. Some of those places were in business for 30 years. To think they relied solely on stuff written in this little forum seems far fetched to me. I mean they could have done those raids a long time ago. I guess they did it once before, but if it was that much of a problem why didn't they do it the first year they opened? Why didn't they close them after they raided them in 2004? I'm not sure why they did their raids and why they did it now?

I appreciate the info all of us share. If people get too cryptic this forum will be useless. Although to the posters that just ask questions and don't provide anything- the heck with them. They deserve nothing. Just my opinion.

And yes when things get cryptic it may be useless. But that's what it may turn out to be for a while.

How about this;.

If I was the county sheriff or mayor or state official that had to answer for the all costs of this "14 month long" investigation that netted 14 arrests for all misdemeanor charges and the governor would talk about the murder rate in Chicago and how he'd like some money to put a stop to that but can't, because the state funds ran short because we arrested 10 masseuses and 4 guys for getting a grease and lube job, How would that play out on the nightly news?

I know the point. I even commented in the past that some of the posts seemed very suspicious. Those posts I wouldn't respond to either- so I agree with Avg Joe on that. Here's my point- these places were open before the internet age. Parlors have been busted before the internet existed as well. I mean they don't need an internet forum to conduct an investigation and raid them. They did that stuff before there was an internet. If they really want to all they have to do is set up an appointment and investigate it. It can't be that hard to do. They'll do whatever they want to do. It's not like spas are invisible- these are right in downtown on the main street. And most have neon lights saying spa. So assuming that no one knows about them is pretty naive. The powers that be in towns like Belvidere either want the added tax revenue, the added customers that they bring into town- who maybe spend money on a meal, haircut, pair of shoes, etc while in town or they don't. And if they don't they can raise taxes on their residents to pay for new roads, fireman, schools, library's etc. and see how that goes over. If everything becomes so cryptic on here that no one knows what the heck people are saying than there's no point in even having a forum. Just my 2 cents.

First, the news anchor has never had to speak a word of French in his life. Second, he quotes the police as saying they are sorting out Who to charge with What. Meaning what? That no one was caught in the act of doing anything. And at least as Executive, you can be sure that no money exchanged hands. And that it in a nutshell. They will make arrests without knowing what to charge you with. Getting a massage? The news anchor also mentions it was a long term investigation. I think I first checked out C'est La Vie in 1995 and Executive in 1996. I suppose 20 years is long enough for an investigation that leads to no charges.

Don't know how many saw this in the Rockford paper this morning, but if Belvidere follows through on this, it pretty much spells the end of massage parlors in the city limits.

What struck me was they did the raid around 8 am at ERS and ERS don't open till 10 am. So how did they caught the girls at ERS. If I'm working there and I see police cars parked outside is I wouldn't go in. Unless they waited till they opened and then went inside to arrest the girls. Either way I hope this all clear up soon and things get back to normal.

Funny question, so let's say they open next week. Will you visit the first day LOL LOL?

You can start shopping elsewhere, because this city is closed up.

The setup there is that the women NEVER ask for money and they NEVER initiate. So how could they get busted? It doesn't make sense unless they changed their script recently. If they have a decent lawyer they should be fine.

Like they just suggested a "Type Business License" . Such as they can say "oh we aren't issuing any of those licences in that district" or something to that effect. Maybe it's just an election year thing but I don't know, sure are trying to portray a hard line too.

My question is how much risk are the previous customers at? The article mentions they are still investigating, going over video footage, records, and surveillance tapes. I would hope they wouldn't be so stupid as to have video on file. So are people going to be getting knocks on their door? Seems like that would would be pretty extreme. Are they going to travel out of state to extradite visiting out of state customers? A lot of people at risk based on how careless they were or were not with "record keeping".

I kind of always got the impression ERS and the other place down the street had been around so long that the community did not care, as long things that happened behind closed doors stayed there. In my experience with them, I would guess that they will have a hard time making charges stick since as mentioned they seem to have a protocol for avoiding stings, not sure about the other places. Odds are they will just make it difficult for them to do business in that town. It sounds like they want issue business licenses to hold over their heads. The man arrested for promoting prostitution was held without bond. Holy crap! There are murders and rapists that get bond. Sounds like this town is trying to make an example, Sharia law lite. Like one poster said, men can be women and women can be men and it's okay to marry whichever gender you want and use whichever bathroom that fits your gender identity, not necessarily your biology. Heck we are about a decade away from someone being able to marry their pet goat, but how dare two consenting adults do something in private that involves an orgasm.

I have been a customer of CLV and ERS. Its an hour drive for me to get to Belvidere. Sometimes I was just passing through but other times it was my intended destination just to visit these places. Always had a great experience at both. An experience you can't find many other places. I was worried when the Asian places started moving in. I thought they might attract unwanted attention to the other places. I've seen reports about Royal pushing the envelope of their services. That may have been the straw that broke the camels back. At first I thought this bust might be an attack on the Asian parlors and CLV and ERS were just collateral damage and would be open for business again soon. But, there seems to be a real backlash from the community aimed at these businesses. It's a shame this might be the downfall of business's that have been around for 30+ years. I guess times are changing. I can't help but think if these places had men working there giving other men a massage and a finish there would be news reports about how beautiful it is. Without CLV and ERS there is no reason for me to stop in Belvidere. No reason to stop in some of the shops on State street. No reason to grab a bite to eat at the restaurants. I'll be spending my money elsewhere. Having said all that I think it's really unnecessary to put the mugshots on public display. Some of these girls have little kids in school. Kids they are trying to support. They don't deserve that kind of public shaming. But I'm sure LE thinks it's all part of the punishment.

Then again, with the current 'name-and-shame' policies some LEO's and prosecutors are taking, they might just decide to put together a 'rogue's gallery' of people who 'frequented' these 'disreputable' establishments and release it with a 'request' that anyone with information on these individuals contact local LEO's. Who knows what will happen. Only sure thing seems to be that things are changing, and not for the best.

If they had evidence that he was involved in human trafficking, or indications that he was some serious international flight risk, I could almost understand them holding him without bond. As it stands, this sounds more like them hoping to intimidate him into not reopening his business.

At least the former is interested in preserving our freedom to do as we chose, while the latter is interested in nothing more than controlling us.
