I had a fake name on mine and everything, but nothing good came of that. Keep that thing secure, and preferably not at home, or anywhere in your car that it might be found, and keep it on silent, no vibration.

Yes, allowing your SO to find your burner phone is just plain dumb. So is parking in plain view if the AMP when you know people you know pass by. Coming home smelling like you've been to the AMP is another. Like I said the list can be endless. You simply have to be smarter than the hobby.
The OP was speaking of the problem using a texting APP. I'm sure many can recognize when those APPs are being used and the Providers know too. My choice is a tracphone burner, it works for me and I don't have to remember to use it or lose it when it comes to the number. Some Providers won't do business with texting APPs. It's an individual choice who you play the game. Just have to be smart about it. Cheers!
