Probsbly a good time to take a break from hobby with all this nasty hep a going around. 2700 potential infected cases a fraction of which have to be mothers. LOL.
Go see a Doctor right away. Unexplained weight loss can be serious.
That's wise advice.
From the American Cancer Society: "Unexplained weight loss. Most people with cancer will lose weight at some point. When you lose weight for no known reason, it's called an unexplained weight loss. An unexplained weight loss of 10 pounds or more may be the first sign of cancer. This happens most often with cancers of the pancreas, stomach, esophagus, or lung".
Hopefully there's a much less serious reason for it. However, rather than speculate, have a doctor investigate.
I would agree with the others advice, see a doctor quickly. Cancer is may not be the cause. A few years ago I experienced massive weight gain for no reason. I upped my workouts and the weight kept piling on. I had some blood work done and found my thyroid stopped working and caused a chain reaction in my body that slowed my metabolism and caused my weight gain. The doctor told me I had hypothyroidism and continued to say there are two types hypo and hyperthyroidism. It sounds like to me you have hyperthyroidism, which will call massive weight loss no matter how much you eat you will continue to lose weight. If not taken care of, it can result in serious issues with your liver, kidneys and other vital organs and will result in death. If you have hyperthyroidism, they will remove your thyroid, only a minor surgery and place you on thyroid meds to balance your body levels out. My thyroid shut down, which means I also have to take meds every day to keep my levels normal. Good luck.

I went to the docs and got check out and got my results. Everything was ok. Not spectacular but not nothing too major. They found nothing serious but just a more elevated blood pressure. My stress levels were high in the past months and attributed to a sub par life style. When I was younger I would gain weight if I was stressed not lose so I didn't really think it was stress. Work has slowed down a little and I do feel a lot more relaxed and with that more energy and a slight gain in weight. I never thought I was stressed and never thought stress clould affect your body like that. I was indestructible when I was younger but I think age is catching up. Happy that it was nothing major. Got to get some young hottie to celebrate now!
Glad to hear. I've been slowly losing weight from dieting. I've been fat all my life and I finally figured out the right combination to effectively lose weight. I'm down to 158 from a high of 206. I feel so good. I can see my dick again. Ha ha.

Sorry to hear about your gout. Go to your doc and you'll probably be prescribed Indocin or Colchicine. Those can give you an upset stomach or the trots. Perhaps try an NSAID to reduce the inflammation.
I don't have it but from what I've heard I think you're supposed to avoid beef, seafood, mushrooms, and beer. I think alcohol in general dehydrated you but the hops in beer is an actual contributor to raising uric acid in the blood.

Thanks in advance.
Try eating cherries or drink pure cherry juice. They sell it at down to earth and probably whole foods. Works wonders. Better than the gout medicine docs prescribe.
Let me ask you are you more than 30+ pounds over weight for your height and age? Gout just comes down to diet (eating clean non processed foods) and not keeping yourself physically fit. Once you tackle this problem head on you won't have to take medications or supplements but jigger of Apple cider vinegar twice a day and drinking a ton of water will go a long way.

I'm trying to find a really gifted and knowledgeable acupuncture doc and it just occurred to me to pose the question on this board. Do any of you guys happen to know which acupuncture docs on this island have the best track records for doing excellent healing work with their patients?

No personality but very experienced, takes insurance / health rider, charges about $35-40 cash only if no insurance, uses elctro stimulation on ends of needles for quicker results, walk in only, parking in back of building only has like 6 stalls or so.
The acupuncture school in the Chinese Cultural Plaza #203 above Won Kee does acupuncture for around $25 to 35, graduate students will do half your body and master / teacher does other side, cheap validated parking, people there are very nice and personable and there is no extra charge if you tell them multiple areas need treatment. Also you can ask for a more aggressive treatment using thicker needles.
Maunakea acupuncture and wellness in the Kuakini medical plaza, she does electro acupuncture, cupping and moxibustion, accepts insurances, lots of parking. http://www.maunakeawellness.com/.
Those are the 3 that I have tried many times in the past 10 years but my job and past back injuries are not really curable with acupuncture so I moved on to chiropractic and deep tissue massage.
