I've taken both for a few years now and can say they are highly effective. It's not 100%, but high enough for me. Routine testing for PrEP is every 3 months, but I usually go monthly so I can smash freaks on fetlife that require testing. There's been a few close calls and some nervous waiting for results, but fortunately I've passed with flying colors the past few years If you're afraid, I wouldn't consider BBFS, especially if not on prep and doxy.

Fortunately it was easy to treat and I am single so no significant other to pass it on too. BBFS is hard to resist but it is also dangerous.

I had no symptoms. I get tested quarterly for peace of mind.

Yes, there are risks with everything, of course. The risk level from any of the things you mentioned to BBFS is a giant gap. Obviously if you want 0 risk, don't partake at all, but that doesn't mean you say "well fuck it, I'm already taking a risk, might as well dramatically increase my risk".

My point was that many who are calling out the risk to BBFS are ignoring the risks from BBBJ or DATY, or indirectly DFK for most of the same infections. If anything you should have been reading the post as if you worry about BBFS infection risks you should also be worrying about these others, but I made no statement about what risks anyone should or should not be taking -- that is up to them.
