I agree in that one will need to hone their skills, however those streets these days are very unforgiving. Down there is one of the highest murder rates in the country. Now add to that drugs, cash, w**es, pimps, et al. Imo as the fuzz used to tell me when I was doing freebie community work down there "the life is a bad mixture". These are desperate people doing desperate things. There are no guarantees even online and paying big cash. The providers know as well as their pimps that "who ya going to call? Exists. When one is ripped off then one is just ripped off. Go home, lick ones wounds and be thankful one is alive to live again. So yea I think the two posters both have valid points. Now imo I just won't hit those streets. I don't mind paying and I have some disposable cash so if things go south. WTF I leave my money and carry on. I wouldn't venture lightly, a lot could go wrong. The only neighborhoods more troubled are around Englewood. Yeah, some of these areas are fine to drive through and stop at certain places. But you don't want to venture into these areas and just start driving around areas with SWs. SWs mean drugs, gangs, pimps, police, and you don't want any of those. Plus, damage to your car. Ever drive through these areas? What do you notice? The streets are not kept, deep pot holes and bumps could flatten a tire easily and then you're stuck. You kind of got to know what to expect to navigate all this. I'd call the areas by Englewood or Garfield Park /5th Cicero to be Expert Level only. If you need something safer and more your speed then I'd say the Northside. No, there's not as much action, but you'll find some and less chance of danger from gangs or police. Try Lawrence between Pulaski and Kedzie. Or Cicero between Belmont and Armitage.
