Always agree to everything they ask and see how far you can take it. Most of it, like you said, is just a front. Of course that would make any of us that have a SO mess our pants! BUT there has been so much in the news lately about artificial intelligence and I heard a news report last week about how scammers can just off a few words can construct a real persons speech patterns etc. Similarly they can make fake videos, pictures etc using bits and pieces of what's already in the public domain. They can make it look like you did or said anything or were anywhere. At least that would be my claim if someone tried to contact my SO.
After many years of mongering, I met a civvie lady with whom I shared a hobby. We hit it off immediately, and I felt like I had known her all my life. We spent tons of time together and were texting constantly. I immediately swore off mongering. Suffice to say I spent a bit of money on her buying dinners, gifts, and traveling. We made lots of plans, and life was good.
As time went (3 months), I noticed she started to cool off. She would take longer to reply to my messages; when she did, it was one-word answers. Attempts to set up dates were met with lame excuses. I confronted her, and she said she acted innocent. As if I was imagining things. I foolishly agreed, hoping to get back to the way things were. Of course, this didn't pan out. I was in a spiral for a while, constantly wondering what I did wrong or what I could do to get her back.
With a clearer mind, I did some reading, and apparently, this is called "love bombing" and "bread-crumbing. " Some of these women will overload your needs for attention and companionship for a while and then lose interest. Especially if you are kind. After that, they will give you less and less attention instead of just breaking it off. The less attention you get, the more you will try to get it back. Like a lab rat continuously pressing a button for food. Be warned, fellas. The lure for a civvie relationship is real; some work out. Just take it slow, and don't jump in with both feet like I did.
Now I am back mongering, and at least I know exactly what I am getting.

Here is a recommendation to help you avoid getting scammed. Don't use cashapp.
I work at a bank and we have seen an increase in customers who's checking accounts are being scammed by fraudulent cashapp deposits and withdrawals.
This usually happens when someone accepts a deposit, then their cashapp I'd is known and somehow the scammer starts withdrawing money.
My advice is this: If you have cashapp, disconnect your bank info then close the cashapp account and delete from your phone. There are other safer ways to transfer money.

Don't pay with cashapp, Don't pay with giftcards, don't send deposits. Just use cash.
And if you have a cashapp account you should disconnect the bank info and delete the app.

SO and I are in the medical field. For trich, chlamydia, and gonnorhea; it is 3 medicines. Azithromycin (high dosage. Single treatment), cipro (high dosage), and metronidazole. These meds are taken within 1 to 2 days and that's it. Syphilis is usually treated by penicillin and if there is an allergy, doxycycline. Abstaining from sex for a week after meds and all partners need to be treated. Needless to say, wrap it up!
