Everyone !! Please be very careful when going onto yourfilehost. I went on
a few months back and got hit with a virus just by going to the search page. My protection picked it up and all I needed to do was a system restore.
Last month I wanted to see something that I watched on my Mac at home and used my work PC and wasn't as lucky. The virus that has been on this site acts as a pop up wanting to give you a free scan for virus protection. If you let this run more than a couple of seconds, not only does it scan your system for virus's it also screws up most exe files on your system so that nothing will start. Next and worse was it totally took out system restore. Sp this as far as I know has been lurking on yourfile host for a couple of months. Not sure if that have addressed this yet though.
Fortunately I have a very good computer guy who was able to get this out of my system without loosing any important files. Lost my PC for 4 days and cost $140.00
Just be careful on that site !!!! Can't wait to watch Supers videos but gonna do it through the safety of my Mac and not my PC (especially my work one)
I didn't know about this Davey so thanks for the heads up. My virus protection renews and scans daily and I have not had any problems with this site....yet.
Just in case, are there any other upload places for sharing videos of which anyone is aware?
I tried two other "free" video hosting sites that were recommended to me in a PM, RapidShare and MegaShare, but they seem just to be bait and switches for getting you to buy their premium services. When you try to access a video link you either get a message that says it is delayed because there is a lot of downloading from "premium subscribers" and they come first, or you can get "free premium service" if you jump through a lot of hoops, give out a lot of information and complete some surveys every time you want to get a download. That was also true for a number of others that I tried. Everything works fine until you actually want to see something and THEN they spring it on you that you have to basically be a premium member to do just about anything other than upload a video.
So I am still looking for a true free video hosting website that doesn't have any reported virus problems and is truly free and not just a come-on for a premium service or "survey" hassles.
While I have not personally loaded any video's on it I do know others who have. I have gone there to watch video's and have never had a problem yet. They do have both free and "premium" available but the free works very well and the only headache I have seen is a minor popup to go to the webcam section of the site. It also has a search feature so you can sort the video's by what you do or don't like to see.
