I think your gut was right
I had a weird situation that I'd like to get some input on, ideally from someone who know something about the law or how the courthouse operations work. I had dreamed about a girl several times earlier in the summer and it seemed like we had a decent relationship--very friendly, got along well, etc. A few weeks ago she begged me to drive her to the Hamilton County Courthouse because of problems with some traffic tickets and a court appearance that she supposedly missed the day before. I agreed to drive her there and, like a dumb ass, I gave her some money to pay her fines while I parked the car and waited for her to return. An hour later I was still waiting. I called her phone and it went to voicemail. I called again about 10 minutes later and some guy answered. When I asked for her I was told "we're locking her up because she missed her court date yesterday". It seems VERY ODD that a bailiff or any other courthouse person would answer her phone, so I think the whole ordeal was a set-up just to get some money out of me, and a ride downtown, of course. Does anyone know what the procedures at the courthouse would be regarding answering a "convicts" phone?
I will bet it unfolded the way you envisioned. She took the money in the front door and left out the side door to meet her BF, and they drove off with your cash. You should be able to verify this, though, if you search inmate information.
