I recently had a dream about Ginger. It's been a long time since I've had this dream. Ginger is tall and sexy. It has been a while since I've done a review but a couple of reviews about the Asian Massage 'Stores' (ne: Parlors) and some information I have recently picked-up prompted me to write. I hope this is in the proper section but I thought it would be most interesting to the reviewers who read this section of the review boards.

The first is about the Massage Store near Petterson & Three Chop roads. I went there a while ago, before it was an Asian place, to buy a gift certificate for a girl I was trying to impress. I went in there and there was this white guy standing in front of a display of fancy / expensive massage / skin oils / lotions, etc and a white lady staring out the window wishing she could do a massage. And I know why, too: the gift certificate for 1 hour was $80 and then the guy asked if I wanted to add a 'gratuity' to the gift certificate. I gritted my teeth and added $20 and walked out with a $100 / hr for a massage gift certificate given by a lady, for a lady. (And, guess what? The girl I was trying to impress said thanks but I was never able to score a 2ND date with her. .

So the other day I'm at the restaurant that is near this massage place and I stop in to 'inquire' about a gift certificate (I wasn't going to get one, I just wanted to see what the scene was like). The first thing you see when you get in is a sign in an 8 1/2xll picture frame that says 'No Handjobs! '. Well, not exactly: it has some legalese written in Chenglish that says no 'suggestions of inappropriate behavior' or the massage is terminated immediately with no refund. I chit-chatted for a minute with the Asian dude at the desk and said I was 'just checking' and I'll stop by later. But, I won't be.

But, a few days after that something happened at work I'd like to relay to the group. Talk about your 6 degrees of separation. The guy across the cube wall from where I work was calling a massage school about getting classes for his wife. I don't know him that well – we are in the same general department but in different groups – but I know he has a Chinese wife.

So later on, when in the break room, I started up a conversation with him: 'Hey, Joe, I overheard you talking about lessons at a massage school. I had a friend that was thinking about that, what did you find out? '. 'Joe' goes on to say his wife was trying to get a job at this 'massage place out on Cox road'. But, they were real sticklers about everyone having the proper permits (licenses) , etc. He goes on to tell me the following that I'm going to paraphrase (as it comes from a friend of Joe's wife, who told her, who then told Joe, who's telling me-whew!) : The place is busy as heck, doing massages all day every day from 9am to 9pm (who gets a massage 9AM on a Monday morning?) It's owned by a man, Chinese, (as I think they all are) and he has a long lease and a choking rent. His deal with the providers is that they split the charge 50/50 but he gets no part of the tips. He has given very strict orders: absolutely, positively no 'extras'. It seems 'the police' are always in there. The Henrico cops, the State police come in there. The 'zoning police', the 'Health Department police', 'the FBI' (WTF? I doubt it) , the 'business license police', the 'trash police' – they come in looking for 'inappropriate biohazardous waste materials' (LOL – I've never heard of it described as that!) , even the 'landlord police'. So the bottom line, it seems to me, is that if the girl does some extras she could get arrested, etc, but the guy owner will be out way more: they'll shut his business down but he'll still be stuck with what he's got into it so far (renovations, etc.) and the lease. Plus, he's got it made now: 3-5 ladies working 12 hours a day = $90-$150 / HR (for him) x 12 hours a day x 7 days a week = $my calculator doesn't go that high. For him, why screw up a money machine? He doesn't get anything out of it if a girl does anything extra. The bottom line, to me, is that the girls are going to tease and lead on and try real hard to get you to tip and keep you coming back, but it's going to be a cold day in Hades before you get a HE from a retail standing, storefront facing regular licensed massage store in the Richmond area.

Meanwhile, I went up to the North Virginia area recently: wow, like being a kid in a candy store!
