I have only been at a club when they opened for the day a couple times. Once nobody was ready but I saw several girls in street clothes then naked later. Another time a girl was an early starter and got the worm.

One of the reasons Ginger said she worked there was that she didn't have to worry about fines for being late or not even showing up at all. More than once I've seen girls just get up off the stage and go to do a private leaving no one on stage for the rest of their set. They leave when they want (as I saw last Satruday night when more then half of them were gone at least an hour before closing time). I'm sure they won't be out showing titties at 12:00

Journey is still running around and she has put on some pounds. She's got fat arms now. No real pressure for VIP. Just girls hustling drinks. Drank my beer and left. BTW. $10 for a beer and cover. Not happy about that. $6 cover for days is bad This place isn't Hustler or Hollywood.
3rd and last stop Pyramid. Not much to speak of besides the cheap draft beer. Had a stage dance from a girl with some baby damage. Didn't catch her name. She was the only one that approached me for drinks and time. Nothing really exciting there as well. It looks like the talent there has fallen. There were plenty of cars there but not many guys. I can't say if something was going down in the theater. No cover charge at all but there's a tip jar at the entrance.

The hustle for drinks has increased and can be overwhelming when it's slow.
I agree, these cover charges during the day are ridiculous. I guess they are needed to weed out the guys who just hang out looking. But considering they pressure you for drinks, they shouldn't worry about a cover. At least have the cover include your first drink, like Dollies used to do.
Just as annoying are the places that charge full cover an hour before closing.

Talking about squeezing the dancers, a shift fee, sell drinks and by the way hustle some money for yourself. I give the owner for sqeezing all he can out of the place, but man the atmosphere there is worse than walking on a car lot. You can't relax, every 10 minutes someone asks you about a drink and then when Bob the owner walks in the whole place is on pins and needles. If all the clubs in the areas talent wasn't so down, I'm not sure that I would go there, but I do, I think I hang out with the only dancer there that has never asked me for a drink and she drinks. When broke your broke and might try to keep all the girls from makeing extra money. It is optional, but less heat if they collect and foward on to the state, even in Washington Park and the poorest parts of Illinois.

Have been spending some of my money at other. Girl in Hustler was rude, and now I will try Hollywoods, will be in town end of month. There is no way to really relax and enjoy the "magic spell" a good entertainer can create. It was some years ago the least disgusting club appearance wise.
I've had some fun there. Stopped in one afternoon while out motorcycling. First beer went down quick. Realizing I was on two wheels, I opted to pass when the waitress hit me up almost before my empty hit the table. Planned to be there a while, didn't want to get hammered. As soon as I said I was going to "wait a bit", Bob comes over and points at the door and says "drink or leave". Took me a second to believe he was serious. Met a couple girls OTC. But I refuse to put any more money in that assholes pocket.
The "pole tax" is really only $3 per customer or the club can pay between $5, 000 and $25, 000 based on their annual sales. The industry trade group lead by Ocello (PT's) was able to negotiate down from the original $5 per customer that was proposed. The money is suppose to go to fund rape crisis centers. So if Miss Kitty's is charging $6 and saying its all for the new tax, and that tax is for "rehab". Yeah that doesn't make sense. But then there is a lot about Miss Kitty's and Washington Park that don't always make sense.
The drink hustle at Hollywood can be a pain. I tend to buy just a soda or sometimes mixed drinks there. The waitresses can see you've got drink left and you just nurse it. You tip them good, and be polite and its not that big of deal. You just need to make sure you keep a drink of some sort in front of you at all times, especially when Bob R is around. Also you don't have to buy the girls a drink but they do have to say "yes" if you offer. So if she already has a drink or you just don't want to buy her one, you just got to go against that gentlemanly grain and answer "no, we're good for now" when the waitress comes up and asks "want to buy the lady a drink?". If you want to keep the dancer around either buy the drink then or as soon as the waitress leaves let her know you'll take care of it when she's really ready for another one. But if you do the gentlemanly thing and ask the dancer if she wants a drink while the waitress is right there, she'll have to say "yes" or risk getting turned in by the waitress and getting in trouble with Bob R.
I still enjoy the Hollywood but it has gone downhill the last couple years in the quality of the dancers.

He's a convicted felon and not allowed to own a club so he has his girl friend and son run it on paper but he's in charge. Yes, he's a dick, but just stay away during those times and you're fine if you don't like him. Have to give it to him, he's made a fortune and one dancer I've known for years said he has a safe in the back with millions in cash. Wouldn't be surprised. Bob also owns a radio station and he's "the grim reaper." Really a character, but what I like about him is he's a dick but knows it. Good character trait if you're a dick. He just hired Kevin Slaten at $275, 000 a year so anyone that knows the radio business with a shithole station like his knows that's coming out of Bob's pocket not from station revenue.
Go to Hollywood with money to spend. Usually the best looking dancers on average, you're not going to get laid here with camera's everywhere, but good nude dancers with $25 bed dances and good action with most dancers. The girls actually have a drink quota so you're always going to be hustled. The best way to avoid that is don't let them join you, you'll always be approached, unless you really like her. They always pull the Patron and Red Bull shit. These girls wouldn't know a Patron from rot gut, especially mixed, so it's a show to demonstrate how sophisticated they are or a way to get $15 from you. I tell them the more money you take from me for drinks the less I have to spend on dances, that always shuts them up.
I have been to Hollywood a number of times. Most of my outings there have been great experiences and the not so good were still not bad. I don't give a crap about the owner or if the guy is a prick or not. I go to Hollywood for the pretty girls.
Expensive drinks? Well that goes without saying. I guess if somebody wants cheap they drinks should go elsewhere. Go to your neighborhood pub or drink at home. I know coming in to the club that drinks are expensive. A lady sits with you. Of course her drinks are expensive as well. My advise is if you have to worry about drink prices, then don't go.
Hot Women? This is my reason for going. From my point of view Hollywood has the prettiest, most fit and hot dancers of any club in the area. You can get more for your buck at Dollies, Miss Kitty's, or other clubs like that but the women are usually older, much less attractive, fat, and just plain wrong. For me the game in Hollywood is whether you can take out.
Over the time I have taken out 4 different times. Of course it takes a little work, a little luck, a little time investment and a lot of bullshit. The last Hollywood dancer I saw outside the club invited me to her home in Jefferson County at $150. 00. A great investment with a bonus. Her sister is getting into the business. Another, a buddy was dating a day dancer at Hollywood and had to stop. He gave me his friend's info, I called her, found out she rooms with another Hollywood dancer and was invited to their place. That little adventure cost $200. 00 for both. My experiences with the other dancers I'd rather keep to myself.
These are my observations about the dancers at Hollywood. Of course only my beliefs and practices. The more established a dancer is, the less likely you are to get anything more from her than a rub. I avoid those. Most dancers will accept drinks but would prefer you tip them instead. So I'll ask, do you want a drink or a tip. Couched that way usually dancers will ask for a tip. Yeah, there are some drunks.
The less experience the girl has as a dancer the greater your chances to take out.
I find girls enjoy someone's company who will not demean their line of work, who is respectful, funny, and complementary of their looks. Be nice gents, that goes a long way. There are a some dancers that only see you as a bag of money. And that's fine too. Just figure out which ones do and avoid them.
If you are nice enough to the ladies it is more likely you can get their phone number and maybe something more outside the club.
I've been quoted $500 and $600 for take out. The dancers tell me some guys offer as much as a $1, 000. 00. I have not given that.
So these are just my observations. If you go to a club you will spend money. Don't want to spend, don't go.
And look at this way, most dancers would never even look at you outside the club. Where else can you fraternize with a pretty 20 year old for a few dollars? A naked 20 yr old at that. I know that if my fat ass showed up at a club where these girls hang out none of them would even look at me. Just my 2 cents.

Plus it's pretty simple economics that a tax, even if per customer, is just another cost of doing business that gets passed on to customers as demand permits. I suspect there are more effective ways of passing along that cost, or attempting it, than a $6 cover in WP with their level of dancers. But as you point out, it's Kitty's.

For the most part, it's calm, rarely crowded, and I usually leave "happy". But, I've GOT to stop walking in when there's only a dozen cars in the parking lot, I swear they leave cars in the lot just to look busy.
Anyway, Miss Angelina got way too much of my cash this week, for pretty much nothing. Fun girl, easy to talk with, but the up-selling and asking for more is just not my style.

My experience and what I have read is that mileage varies by time of day and day of week. And maybe by the lady? So hard to predict.

Privates at MK are so expensive, and I have no idea why any guy would do them when the stage dances are almost as good and 1/10 the cost.
I left MK around 6:00 and headed to Dollies to see if there was any good talent looking for a bargain at shift change. Maybe even some takeout. Working were Mandy, Desiree, Haley, Champagne, Shy, Trinity, Sierra, Joe Joe, and Ebony. I got a few dances, but no one there really made me jump for joy. Stage dances there are as good as MKs, but the girls are much lower quality. Still, offers for the private area were all direct and all-inclusive as ever. No one that I wanted to take out with though. I left to get some food.
When I returned to the area it was early in the night shift and I stopped at Blondies first. This was the first time I have been in there in years. Back before it cleaned itself up a bit. Lap dances at the stage, of course. I tip between $2 and $5 depending on how much contact, and if I get the full song. If the girl spends her full three-song set in my lap with full touching, she may get $15-20. I figure I spent $200 on lap dances.
