I was in town for a couple of days this past week and spent some time on the usual strolls. Not a lot of SWs on this trip so I gawked more than usual. I wonderned in to the 7-11 yesterday (Friday afternoon) on pac hwy and around 308-309th streets. A few blocks from the jack in the box on 312th crack head central. The street with Bartells) is where you will generally find them, but they will be various spots throughout the night. As far down as the 7/11 on Delridge. $30 for BBBJ. We're certainly taking advantage of them, but even if we didn't they would still be in the same situation. Maybe I'm splitting hairs and rationalizing, but that's just reality. In fact, if we didn't solicit them they would probably engage in more serious, real crime like theft and robbery.

I used to see an Asian polyglot SW named Niah semi-regularly. You can offer help, but at the end of the day only they can change the situation and accept the help. That is definitely not a healthy relationship. If you fell in love with a drug addicted hooker, first you have to ask yourself if you're really in love with her or you're just lonely and desperate. Then ask yourself if she is willing to change and accept help. Offer to take her to counseling, anonimous group meetings etc. If she doesn't take the help and doesn't want to change I would walk away and not look back.

I usually loop around there just to check but really haven't seen much lately. Usually, the time would be about 11 PM to 3 AM. Generally, you will find them (in order) 15th and the side streets up to the park. 16th (the main street) getting out and walking helps alot here, then 14th (east of 15) and then 17th (west of 16). For a few months the shopping center was also a good spot (homeless women looking for dates / cash). Since a good friend of mine owns one of the bars that I've encountered working girls in, I'm not going to give a name, but I will tell you there are 3 dive bars there and I've encountered working girls in 2 of them. The third place I don't like, so I don't go in, but I've picked up a few right in front. In both locations, the women that I've encountered were not people I would pay for sex. Though I did encounter one and when I tried to leave with her, her madam / pimp (a woman) stopped us at the door and told me that if I wanted to take her I needed to give her at least $30 first (depending on what I wanted to do with her). I was not going to stand outside a bar and discuss sex and prices with some loud mouthed woman and I refused to give her money or even speak to her. I went back inside and had another drink. She is having sex with you because you are giving her money / buying her things. That being said. If you enjoy spending time with her, go ahead and do it and enjoy yourself, but if you're looking for a real relationship this won't be it. I've spent most of my single days chasing screwed up women that I hoped would change. They don't. The girl I was so in love with has been bouncing in and out of detox and rehab for the last six months, and it kills me inside.

But she is a heroin addict. I can't fix that. I actually made it worse by giving her money. She needed to hit rock bottom, and I couldn't watch her suffer. The best thing I ever did for that girl was to walk away. And it broke my heart to do it. That's how you know it's real love, when you do what is best for someone, even if it is not in your own self interest.
