It's also not fully automatic. Its semi automatic as are most handguns now, I have a similar rifle to the one used as well as 2 Springfield handguns. All are capable of rapid fire. Which means any shooter can pop off just as many if not more rounds with the same type of hand guns I have that are easily and readily available by many, and if property equipped. The only thing that rifle can do that the handguns can not is shoot further and harder due to the longer barrel and bigger shell capacity. But in a close range situation like that. It doesn't matter. It was all shooting fish in a barrel. The only thing I can personally think of that would limit these situations in the future would be to outlaw the high capacity magazines. Which I'm sure the Democrats are already working on. (So if you want one you better get it now) & pr more people learning how to shoot properly and accurately and attaining a CCW. He was killed quickly and easily by the police because he was an untrained shooter and the police go through countless hours of training for these situations.
You're probably in the minority in that opinion. If they're banned, they'll find a way to purchase them or will resort to other means. Kind of like prostitution, they'll find a way to sell ass and we'll find a way to buy.

That's why they were able to get to him in less than a minute. Imagine though, he was still able to kill 9 in that short space of time, in an area absolutely crawling with cops. I heard at least one other person got shot in the head, and is battling in the hospital still.

If a person gets shot with a simple handgun once or twice I have seen people survive that. I'm not sure about. 223 or. 556 if you get hit with one of those rounds anywhere and your chance of survival is slim to none. Why do you think some people say the police are outgunned when coming into contact with a ar style rifle carrying suspect. Remember standard body armor can surpress most handgun ammunition (except maybe .357 magnum .50caliber desert eagle or FnP pistol rounds. High velocity. 223 rounds will power thru standard or any armor. Hence title Weapon of War. And I'm not anti gun. I like guns hell I almost and still might purchase an Ar pistol (Google it it is a thing) just a shorter version or ak or M4 also the amount of damage this jerk off was able to do in 30 secs and the cops where literally right there. There are several variants of 223 ammunition. Most ballistic vests will stop a 223 round unless its an AP round. 357,44 magnum and 50 cal handgun rounds won't penetrate it either. You are going to be sore as fuck but the rounds will not penetrate. Yes the 223 is a high velocity round but the weight of the actual projectile is too light and by design breaks up once impact is made. The sure do a lot of damage to an unprotected area of the body much more than a 7. 62. The 7. 62 will go thru you. At 60 yards most modern ballistic vests will stop the 7. 62. The. 223 or 5. 56 was adopted by NATO forces for one main reason. You can carry a lot more of it than heavier ammo like the 7. 62. The reason people say the police are outgunned is because they are limited on what they can carry. Issued one sidearm, most often 9 mm Glock or as of June Sig Sauer, a tactical shotgun and 1 or 2 pieces of non lethal weapons. Firstly, just getting my jollies punching holes in paper, secondly knowing I have an effective means of defending my home and family in case of feces hitting the air circulator. Just look at some of the people in North Dayton guarding their houses from looters.
God forbid a Katrina like situation where all of the order would break down. Not to mention, the purpose of an armed populace is to keep the government on notice they can be removed at need. To do that military style weapons are EXACTLY what's needed.
The 2nd amendment doesn't grant anyone a right to own weapons. We HAVE that right. The 2nd guarantees the government isn't allowed to interfere with that. And yes, my position is that every gun regulation is invalid and a basic violation of constitutional law.
Sorry I know that's not what we come here for but an essential liberty is under heavy attack and I feel the need to defend it.

You liike so many think because a weapon looks like a military assault weapon it is. I have a. 22 Rifle that holds 15 rounds, and is semi-auto. Looks like a target / hunting rifle. Fires at the same rate as the gun being used by the shooter. PERIOD. Now, as to magazines and total rounds, that's a completely different topic and definitely should be restricted.
