I'm from an adjacent county and one of my neighbors tells me stories that, whenever he travels to the county on the OTHER side of Pólk Count ¥ , he is always certain to NEVER spend any money in the county itself (like for gas, etc.) just to make sure he doesn't contribute to any of the local county sales tax, HOWEVER, he is also always certain to find a public county building (there are several along his travel route) and stop to go inside and take a CRAP in a public toilet. His reasoning is that, in doing this, he is certain to put a drain on county spending (sewage and water fees) that will take at least that many more pennies away from the Sheriƒƒ's department! . . . with the added benefit of feeling like he just sh! T on Grâdy's "head", so to speak.

Have knowledge that they arrested about 12-14 underage but did not post it for political reasons.

C3.[/QUOTE]I'm wondering about this, too, and what the agencies outside of Polk Co think about Grady specifically targeting people from within their jurisdiction. It certainly doesn't make them look good with Grady doing their work for them. At the very least, you have to wonder the amount of resources Polk Co has to go after people way outside their own county. Do they really have that kind of money to devote to upping their numbers? It definitely seems like an effort to pad the arrest count for publicity and get Grady into his most desired place, in front of the television cameras. It's not much of a surprise that Grady doesn't mention the fact that the majority of those caught weren't from within Polk Co.

If I lived in Polk, I'd be concerned that Grady is spending Polk tax dollars to clean-up other jurisdictions, rather than concentrating on crime 'inside' Polk Co.
