FYI, other countries don't give a shit. If you were in Argentina with no health insurance (legally or otherwise) and you were in an accident all medical facilities are required by law to treat you at no cost. They do this because they think that medical care is a basic human right in an enlightened society.

Incidentally this problem could be solved over night if they fined any companies employing undocumented workers 100,000 dollars per worker. Have you ever wondered why they don't? They want you to be angry about this issue so they can tell you they will solve it and you will vote for them but they don't actually want to solve this problem because the real supporters of those same people that are telling you how they are going to solve this problem with a wall need those undocumented workers because they can pay them less and work them like dogs.

There are some illegal aliens who are committing heinous crimes like rape, home invasion, murder. There needs to be a way to filter out those types; we can't just have an OPEN DOOR policy.

I have driven through Mexico many times. Every time you cross into a different State you are required to show a passport to prove you are there legally. Then when you leave Mexico you pay an exit fee. They are more strict than the US! In this day and age allowing unverified immigrants into the US is folly. There is no reason the US shouldn't be a sovereign nation.

It doesn't matter who writes the checks for employment taxes and Workers Comp, it's the employee's labor that funds it. In return for services rendered, employers pay out X amount of money to compensate a worker. In the case of an employee, some goes to the employee directly, and some gets paid out on BEHALF of the employee. To Social Security, Medicare, Workers Comp, etc. (The employee also writes checks for "their portion" of taxes). Alternatively, an employer can pay a 1099 subcontractor that entire amount, and let them write checks for taxes and Workers Comp themselves. It's the same amount of money earned by the worker in both cases, just a difference in who writes checks.

This country badly needs more young workers to pay taxes and support the system. This is a problem worldwide, not just here. I'm sure times will be much different ten years from now. I don't understand why if I or any other citizen, native born or naturalized, breaks any motherfucking law on the books we are held fully accountable for our actions while others aren't.
