Although himrod, lincoln etc are not desireable locations they are better off then hillman, oakhill, warren, glenwood etc. South side per capita has more crime then any other side which is generally between glenwood and south ave. West side mahoning ave isn't too bad if you can catch a SW there. Good luck be safe and just be aware of your surroundings.

Rode through the zone on Thursday and Tuesday nite after 9, was all quiet, didn't see anything out walking
