The price for anything that is real fun at an AMP make these CL and BP girls a viable option. You might not get the TS and pandering that goes with it but sometimes you just want the actual act. I have been to a small handful of non-AMP providers and found that I tend to spend less money, spend less time, but get satisfied. I still go back to the AMPs though. AMPs do feel safer than answering an ad off of CL and BP and I guess there is a premium to pay for that safety. But is no FS and more $$ the correct price for that premium?

Interesting FIRST post ? and just HOW would you know the "detective in charge of this case" ? Could it be that you work with him... You seem to have a lot of details about this case ? OR could you possibly work at Ambrosia ?

Went there today. Nice massage, nice ending. They were outraged at the $30 tip I gave. Told me to bring more next time.

I paid for a 60 minute massage and they still got me out the door in forty-five. So, $70 at the door and $30 for a tip brings the total to $100. Just think folks, they get $100 for a 45 minute massage and they still complained.

There probably won't be a next time.

Yes, this is Ambrosia Spa. I find violence toward women completely unacceptable. Yes I passed the messages on to the detective, who is a she. This is a clear message to anyone contacting my spa and demanding that I tell them the whereabouts of an assumed informant with the intent to do harm. We do not want to be involved in your drama. Pretty pathetic for Koreans. They usually have a good reputation for being smart.

I brought this up awhile back. The AMP 'girls' , just keep getting older and older , and their prices keep getting higher and higher. The service is getting worse. I agree with the 'safety issues ' , and that in general, the AMP's have less risk involved with them. I just don't think they are worth the premium prices that they have started to charge us lately. Alot of other cities have younger Amp girls, lower house fee, and lower tips. Nice relaxing time including FS , for less than $$ total. I've said it before, I think a boycott is in order !!!

I agree, the AMPs are failing to recognize that times are tough and people don't have money trees in their back yard. I made a post earlier tonight about Oriental Rhyme and their dissatisfaction with a thirty dollar tip. They told me to bring more money next time. I don't know about the others on here, but I am not going back to any of them.

It is the same old story at Super Relax. They too want bigger tips and they don't mind to telling you so. In the beginning, Super Relax never mentioned money, never ever. Now, since they are willing to be less strict and provide more customer satisfaction, they too are demanding large tips. I could understand if the extras were above and beyond the massage you just paid for, but they aren't, the massage is never an hour and twenty minutes. At Oriental Rhyme, it is less than an hour.

Even if the AMP is afraid that you are LE, and they give you a simple, basic, legit massage, they all still seem to want a bigger tip. I'm fed up with the whole tip issue.

Besides, asking for tips up front for extras is how AMPs get in trouble anyway. If they acted as though the extras were complimentary and not usually offered, and if they would just be happy with the tips they received, they would do better in the long run.

The first 25-30 minutes were spent in Steam room, TS, and Sauna. After a very unimpressive 15 minute "rub", she started hitting me up for the tip. Indicated extras were available, but I was not willing to pay what was being asked. She was one of the better looking ones I've seen lately, but not worth the asking price.60 for something I can do for myself? No thanks.

I think the last reasonable experience I had at an AMP in this area was at Island Day Spa before they closed. Prior to that it was probably two years prior at Hannah on Woodlawn. The attendant was older, but at least I felt like I got my money's worth.

I'll just keep looking for a good dependable indie.

Well I went there a few weeks ago, after reading about their new policy. I still didn't receive any extras. Even though I was disappointed , I left what I thought was a tip that wasn't proportional to the services I received . In hind-sight , I probably shouldn't have , since I don't plan to go back.

The only AMP that I've been to , that doesn't put any pressure on you about a tip , has been Lilly's . My problem with them is just the ladies are too old. They do give the best therapeutic massage , if that's all you are looking for.

it seems we have two possible choices with how to handle the AMPs. We could organize a boycott, or we could all agree a fair and reasonable tip system.

The problem is that we have no idea of what percentage of AMP customers read this forum and so any thing we agree on would only count for the forum members. There are also the out of town visitors that we have no idea about. Secondly it would have to be an honors based system where we trust each other to stick to whatever was agreed.

The tip system would be tricky to arrange as whilst we could all agree to only pay a tip of $xx for HJ, $xx for BJ etc there is a big difference between one HJ and the next. Attitude of the provider needs to be taken into consideration when tipping. Agreeing on figures might take some work.

It seems we are stuck with the situation as it is. We all have different budgets. I can go 2 months or so without the funds available for a visit and can then go 3-4 times in 2 weeks. I know others go at least once a week and have $$$ to spend.

We pay what we can afford to pay and we get what we can. I wish there was an easy fix as I believe we are being ripped off. I travel to other cities and have been amazed at what is offered and the prices. Charlotte needs to get real.

You can drive 18mi and house is 60 and 20 for HJ 50 for BJ and 100 FS and they are happy to see you. Spa down east was 60 for house and tip was 140 for the hottest youngest asian lady ever been with for everything and she was happy to see you. And believe me when I say she could have easily been a model. Then in South Carolina 1hr from here 60 for house and tip for FS was 100 and they are happy to see you.

I've never been asked for a tip at Rainbow, JC, Hot Stone, Spa 74 or Galaxy. I usually get a decent massage and some sort of relieve (YMMV), and rarely spend more than $ for 1/2 hr or so. Some indies and 'American Spas' want a min of $120-$140 just for a light rub and tug. While they are usually pretty hot it sucks when you end up spending $1000 for 8 HJ! That's why this board is valuable to post terrible service so we can save money for the good ones.

Sixty dollars for a sixty minute massage seems fair, at least I think so. Most licensed therapists in the Charlotte area are lucky to have clients that pay $60 an hour on a regular basis. There are many that charge less in this worsening economy just in hopes of getting some business.

As far as tips are concerned, $10 for a straight massage (no extras of any sort) is fair in my books. Massage Heights expects a 15% percent tip and 15% of 60 is $9. If the massage puts a smile on your face and you aren't cheated on time, then I think $20 ought to put a smile on their faces (33% tip). Then again, maybe I am just cheap.

Oriental Rhyme and Super Relax both want a forty dollar tip, doing the math, it works out to be 57% of the door fee at Oriental Rhyme (they now charge $70 for a so-called hour massage) and 67% at Super Relax. I think both percentages are outrageous.

Then, when you consider that you may only get a 45 minute massage although you have paid for an hour, the smile should quickly fade, and, if you are like me, you have this feeling of being cheated and HAD once again.

Think about this, there is a reason that AMPs ask for their money up front, that is to circumvent the customer of not paying once he has been cheated which is all too often. Like I said, at Oriental Rhyme it was forty five minutes "door to door" and that included me taking a shower after the massage before I got dressed. Super Relax at least gives you a full hour.

Not giving the customer an hour when they paid for an hour is beyond me. Usually, these spas don't have customers standing in line holding a number. It seems that for some they usually go long intervals with no business at all. I have never seen anyone at Super Relax for a massage except myself. Never! I was certain at one time that Super Relax would eventually go out of business. Maybe they still will.

There used to be a place in Fort Mill on Gold Hill Road that, if they were not busy, would give more than an hour massage. Sometimes they would have another girl in the room too. They were cheerful and the atmosphere was a playful one. I usually felt happy even before the happy stuff ever started. I was always quite pleased when I left. This is how it should be, instead of letting their customers walk out the door feeling cheated and vowing never to return. They screwed up and started to negotiate fees for various services which resulted in being busted. This is viewed as prostitution to most LE. Like I said, they should treat all extras as complimentary or something between two consenting adults and just trust that the tip will be reasonable.

Like I said, I am not going back to those that have already demonstrated a disregard for the amount of time paid for (Oriental Rhyme). And if because of their greed, they are now demanding larger tips I am not going back either. I used to like Super Relax because they charged sixty and I was happy and they seemed happy with my twenty dollar tip. Now recently, they seem to be very disappointed about the tip. This guilt trip they have now started and their greedy behavior just spoils it all. I don't ever plan on spending $100 to $120 for a massage with a HE just because they want it. I will vote with my feet first.

I wish I had a recommendation as to where to go, but I don't. The AMPs around here all seem to be the same in this regard. Maybe that is their "Ace in the Hole" and they know it. I guess I will look for independents that are more reasonable. I sure hope I succeed. Guess I have rambled enough.

Agree to everything you and others said. This city is just ridiculous when it comes to the AMP rates and tips expected. I guess its the fact that all are similar at the end that keeps some of these AMP's running. Especially, in these days when many hard working fair businesses (not massage parlors - others like restaurants, shops etc) had to shut down due to poor response.

One of my fav local Italian restaurant had to shut down due to busines. So, since we only see new businesses coming up in the AMP front, they must be doing good. And no wonder - why not? with these rates, they are literally robbing. I have not been to a AMP in CLT for almost 6 months now, except 2 visits to galaxy and that was good with no pressure.

There are much better options on Cl or BP or I always can drive the 100 miles.

I did see the young lady he is referring to down east. I guess when you see a young lady that looks like that, with that kind of service and attitude , all for $$ total including the house fee, everything else (at the AMP's anyway ) is just bound to disappoint .

I know we won't ever have a Bebe at an AMP in Charlotte !! So I don't think we should have to pay for what we don't have !!

I actually think the pricing in general has gone down or stayed about the same over the years.

I picked up my first SW in 1986 it was 50 for half and half in Portsmouth, VA. Here we are 23 years later and you can find a BJ for $20 on a regular basis from SWs in the metro region. I have seen several on here talking about $40 for the whole deal in Charlotte. So this seems to have not moved at all over the past few decades.

First Escort to the door was in Reston, VA in 1991 for $150.00 That has gotten a little higher, but you can still find very pretty incall girls for $150 an hour these days

My first AMP experience was at Callowhill in Philadelphia in 1995. The rate for the complete FS package was $150 at the door. No tipping expected. You can still get FS at an AMP for around $180-200(YMMV) which is not that much of a rise over the last 10-13 years. I will say that it goes a long way to see the same place and developing a relationship with the house and the girls. Be nice to them and they will be nice to you. I. E bring a small box of chocolate or some other goody.

I think $80 for hour at an AMP is a fair price that has stayed pretty consistent in the metro area for the last 5 years or so. I can say that I visited Louisville, Atlanta and Chicago in the last year and that $80.00/hr was pretty standard.
