The people who live here are generally conservative blue noses who don't like people like us, both sides of the equation. Then look at the areas where the lifestyle thrives, population in the multiples of what we have here, competition, and the pigs have other things to do than chase woman making a living in the oldest profession. Usually those areas are doing considerably better than Cleveland. Just the way it is.
